It was a beautiful morning, sunny as usual, but not so hot because it was still very early. Hakim made himself some tea and sat on the threshold of the Tardis just looking at the beautiful park. He studied all the unusual plants and trees with big grape-like fruits hanging from the branches and then saw a little lizard looking creature running around then opening his wings and flying off. He couldn't get enough of all those amazing new places he saw and people he met. He understood his daughter in choosing a life with the Doctor in spite of all the danger that life brought with it. It was also a life which brought amazing adventure and wonder beyond any imagination. It was brilliant and addictive, like a never-ending vacation, a trip around the world that brought all the stories of Jules Verne, Tolkien and Star Wars together. It opened the door to a world that was like a Tardis, so much bigger inside than one could imagine.

"Morning Hakim" Doctor came up behind him

"Oh, morning Doctor" he smiled looking up over his shoulder then moved a bit to give her room to sit next to him

"Aaaaaa...you found my best spot...nothing better than to sit on door of the Tardis" she said sitting next to him

"I was enjoying in the garden...I saw a flying lizard...Amazing Doctor"

"It is isn't it? No matter how much I saw in my life I always get surprised. How brilliant is that Hakim"

"I was just thinking that...there's magic in your world Doctor...I know it's not all perfect. But then what is...and this..." he spread his arm out pointing over the park "This is something else...I never thought I will see all of this...I never knew it exited"

"I spoke with Yaz...You could come with us you know...more often...That is if you'd like to"

"I'd love to Doctor...and I appreciate you inviting us. But I also think you two need to be alone with each other. It's not the same with in-laws sharing the house...even if that house is as big as the Tardis. Might take the offer just here there though...I do have holidays once a year" he laughed

"Hakim your always welcome on a Tardis...and my offer was purely selfish cause me and Yaz...stars help us when that baby is born" she laughed and got up tapping him on a shoulder "Well, enjoy yourself...I have a teleport waiting for me"

"Oh, how's that going Doctor?"

"Wanna see" she nodded towards  the console smiling

"Oh yeah" he got up exited before she finished the sentence

Yaz woke up with a pain that was so harsh she couldn't get out of bed so she picked up a phone calling the Doctor

"Hey potato...why are you calling me on my phone Yaz" she frowned confused

"Baby...pleeease come over" she cried out

"Yaz!!! What's wrong?"

"I don't know I'm in so much pain"

"Stars Yaz...coming" Doctor dropped her phone and ran jumping over the steps completely petrified bursting through the bedroom door "Yaz..."

"Babe it really hurts" she said practically in tears

Doctor moved the covers and lifted her nightie up then took a stethoscope out of her pocket "Where darling? Show me"

"All the way here" she pointed underneath her tummy

Doctor listened moving the instrument around then took her sonic zooming it over her

"Am I in labour? Am I having this baby earlier?"

"I don't think so Yaz...I'm gonna have to check you out properly but I'm gonna have to lift you up and it will hurt...I'm sorry"

"Oh god...alright...just do what you need to do"

She draped her arms over her shoulders and yelled in pain as Doctor picked her up from the bed. As she lifted Yaz Doctor glanced at the sheets seeing blood stain "Shoot"

"Is that blood?" Yaz looked petrified

"Just a little Yaz...don't worry" she said and kissed her cheek

"Noo..pleaseeee...I can't lose her"

"You won't...I promise...come on let's see what's going on" as she carried her down the hallway she felt her legs giving up on her from fear surging through her whole body. She rarely felt panicky, but this was one of those rare times she could feel it taking over her completely and trying to keep it together

"Yaz...What's going on?" Najia came out of the kitchen

"I need to check her out" she said looking at Nadjia with expression on her face that spoke more than any words

"Muuuum" she cried out "I'm bleeding and I'm in so much pain"

Nadjia`s face dropped and all the blood drained from it but she was trying to be brave for her daughter "It's alright sweetheart...sometimes it happens and it's nothing to worry about" she held her hand as Doctor walked as fast as she could

"It's alright Yaz" Doctor kissed her cheek again and booted the door of the infirmary so hard she almost knocked it out of the door frame

"I'll be outside Yaz" Nadjia said and kissed her hand

"Nooo...You can be with her Najia" Doctor said

"Can I?"

"You're her mother...I can't think of the more important place for you to be right now...Come on" she nodded her head

"Please mum"

The Doctor placed her on the bed and no matter how gentle she was, Yaz cried out again from the pain that pierced the Doctor's ears so much she closed her eyes for a moment.

"It's gonna be ok...promise" she stroke her forehead than ran across the room moving the massive scanner over the ceiling

"What's that?" Nadjia asked stroking Yaz's hair

"Aaaarrh it's like an advanced version of an MRI scanner... it'll show us everything that's going on with Yaz and the baby"

The Doctor clapped her hands and the light dimmed, then the scanner began to hover above Yaz. A blue beam of light passed over her stomach and chest, then suddenly a 3D projection of her entire body popped up above her.

"Wooow" Najia watched as the image hovered above her "OMG that's amazing"
"I told you... it shows absolutely everything from vascular tissue, skeletal tissue to all the internal organs and so much more... it also gives me a full blood and DNA analysis... it's like a one man band, you could to say...but without instruments"

"That's amazing...is that from your planet Doctor?"

"Yes...it's all part of my Tardis....there's  so much  more in here and I'd love to show you but no time now...So...let's see what we're dealing with here...That's the baby here" she was explaining to Nadjia "Hello munchkin" she waived smiling "...and this the placenta, umbilical cord, over here is the uterus wall...see this is the pelvic bone...Oh waaaw Yaz...it's so stretched already " she smiled " then, bladder, bowls, stomach ...all that other stuff...cervix...mmm...that's not good" she nodded concerned "Let me just check something"

Doctor studied the image turning it around in the air so fast Najia couldn't keep up...If there was one moment she realized Doctor isn't human it was now watching her turning the images and flipping from one scan to another in such speed her eyes couldn't keep up. She had no idea how she could even read anything at such speed, but it was apparent she did. Her fingers working fast flipping through Gallifrey display. If she wasn't absolutely petrified about her daughter's heath at this point, she would be absolutely impressed...

"Baby...talk to me...what's going on?" Yaz asked as tears dripped down her face

"It's alright darling...munchkin is fine...don't cry" she reached out stroking her face then turned back to scan "She's fine but you have infection so the bleeding is from the cervix it's not from the uterus...it's also where the pain is coming from. See right there...And that's a very good news...well not good news but better news...absolutely better than you bleeding from the uterus...cause that would be really bad...placenta is intact, baby is fine...I just need to stop infection from spreading" she purse her lips "I can treat it don't worry. Tardis will prepare all the medication for you...she's already on it Yaz" she came over and kissed her forehead "Don't cry...it's alright...You're both gonna be fine" she said stroking her cheek

"Oh god" Najia exhaled "so it's nothing serious?"

"I can treat this...she's should be fine in less than 24 hours"

"Oh god" Nadja kissed Yaz's cheek "It's alright baby don't cry....What caused it Doctor?"

"Oh it can be a number of things Najia but most commonly the cause is bacteria moving up through the vagina and cervix. It can also come through the maternal blood stream through the placenta...anyhow this isn't just any bacteria. It comes from this planet, so Yaz isn't immune to it. This is why her symptoms are much harsher than they would be back on Earth"

"Why does it hurt?"

"It's from infection darling...we're sort it out...I have to go to console... get you medication...I'm sorry" she scrunched her face

"Go...I'll be fine...mum's here"

Doctor quickly kissed her and ran out

"Doctor?"

"Not now Ryan" she said pointing a finger as she rushed through the hallway

"Alright" he shrugged and walked off. He was used to this by now and learned a long time ago not to ask any additional questions when Doctor was in one of her moods. So much so it didn't even bother him anymore.

Doctor ran to the console where Tardis had already prepared everything for her. "Thank you so much...what would I do without you" she said stroking the console and grabbed the medicine as the Tardis turned its lights pink and hummed in response then ran back to the infirmary

"Here baby..." she said from the door "It's gonna sting a little bit" she said giving her injection and kissing her forehead at the same time

"She's gonna be fine right?"

"She is...don't worry"

"I'm gonna give you some space Doctor" Najia said placing her hand on her shoulder

"Don't worry Najia...it's scary...I must admit it had me nearly regenerate but she's gonna be fine"

"I do trust you Doctor...I know she's in good hands...I'll see you later sweetheart and rest" she kissed her hand

"Alright mum" she said as Najia brushed her finger over her cheek and then left the room slumping herself against the door as she came out 

"Hey..." Doctor said said pulling the chair with her leg and sat down next to her "It's alright beautiful" she said and leaned over kissing her gently

"I was so scared" Yaz said stroking her face

"Oh Yaz...I'm not gonna even tell you how this felt..."

"How did this happen?"

"This is very hard pregnancy for you Yaz...it's not easy on you and you won't like what I'm gonna say but you're gonna have to slow down...at least for now"

Yaz swallowed deeply "Buut" she reached her hand out

"Yaz" she took her hand and kissed her knuckles "We see how it goes...alright...we have to be careful darling"

"Alright baby" she nodded

"I love you...soo much"

"I knoooow...it's just that I already feel so restricted in so many things this isn't easy for me"

"I know darling...I do understand that. I couldn't go through this. I'm honest Yaz....this is one scenario I can't see myself in. I admire you in so many ways....and I know it may not seem that way sometimes...I know I'm nagging you most of the times...well...all the time... but it's only because you two are everything to me...I hope you forgive this old hag" she said kissing her fingers

"Oh baby" she stroke her face gently "You're perfect to me...you always have been...now more than ever"

"Is the pain gone?...I don't wanna move you until it goes"

"I think so...I need a shower"

"I'll wash you don't worry...I'll run a nice bath for you...How's that?" she said stroking her forehead gently

"Perfect"

Doctor sat her up in the armchair whilst she was running a bath and pulled all the sheets of the bed. Seeing blood on them made her stomach flip. The fragility of her wife scared her in so many ways she couldn't ever verbalize. She grabbed the fresh sheets and changed them quickly then ran back to the bathroom

"Aaaaa perfect...the water is nice and warm" she smiled at her from the bathroom.

Yaz could see she was stressed no matter how hard Doctor tried to put on a brave face and smiled each time their eyes met across the room. But the lack of words from her wife`s lips that moved almost all the time and her erratic movements that Yaz could read like an open book after ten years were a tell tell sing of how troubled she was.

"Ready?" she said with the softest tone smiling

"Hey" Yaz stroke her face "I love you...so much" she said softly and Doctor leaned into her palm "It's alright to be scared...I am...don't hide it from me darling"

"Oh Yaz" she exhaled and took her hand kissing her fingers. She kneeled down and ran her palm over her tummy "It does scare me...I'm trying to keep it together...I still have this planet to save but my place is here"

"You feel torn?"

"I do...I just wanna finish this and for us to go home"

"We will baby..." she leaned over placing a long kiss to her forehead "I absolutely adore you"

"C'mere...let's get you in a bath...Tardis has put some healing stuff into the water for you as well...it smells really nice"

"It sounds lovely" she said bringing her hands over her shoulder as she scooped her up from the armchair "I can walk you know...it doesn't hurt anymore" she smiled and tucked her head into her neck

Doctor took her nightie off leaving it on a side and felt her breath get caught at the back of her throat as she took down her underwear stained from blood, quickly rolling it and throwing it into the sink.

"Slowly Yaz" she said holding her hands as she stepped into the bath

She made Yaz lie down after her bath and lay down next to her placing her hand over her stomach drawing Gallifrey circles on her stomach. Someone knocked on the door and the doctor raised her head

"Yeees?"

"Doctor...may I come in? Hakim asked from the hallway

"Yes...yes" she jumped from the bed and ran to open the door

"Hello Doctor...I'm sorry to intrude..."

"Nonsense Hakim...you're not intruding come on in"

"How is she?...Najia told me what happened"

"She's gonna be fine...I gave her something for sleeping" she said as he approached the bed

"Hey pumpkin" he said kneeling beside the bed and stroke her head "You scared us all" he spoke to his daughter even though she couldn't hear him and quickly wiped a tear off his face

Doctor put her hand on his shoulder gently "They're both fine...don't worry yourself Hakim...I promise"

He kissed his daughter's hand and got up "Huh...didn't Najia tell you?"

"Tell me what?"

He nodded towards the hallway and she followed him outside closing the door behind her

"When Nadjia was pregnant with Sonya she started bleeding in her eight month...she had placenta detachment and had to keep her pregnancy till the end...I thought I tell you just in case...you know..."

"Thank you Hakim...It's good you told me. It's so important I know those things. I'll run some more tests...keep this in mind because those things can be hereditary....and I don't think I can deal with more stress like this" she slumped her shoulders

"I know...I know exactly how you feel...But hey...you have the Tardis Doctor"

"Very true Hakim" she smiled

"Go to her Doctor"

"I have to go and work on this teleport" she scrunched her face

"Doctor....can I help...show me...I'll do what I can"

She looked at him contemplating his request for a moment "Actually Hakim...you might be able to. Come with me" she pulled him by the sleeve towards the control room

They spend about half an hour together, the doctor explaining to Hakim exactly what needs to be done. She was absolutely impressed with how quickly he picked up all the information and followed everything she said. It was comforting that she could rely on him and be with Yaz for the rest of the day just checking in on his progress now and then. Two hours later, after checking on Hakim, she went to the kitchen where Najia and Sonya were cooking food for everyone.

"Hi" she said from the door dragging her feet

"Hey Doctor....How's she doing?"

"Sleeping for now....thanks for that...cooking I mean...I do appreciate it"

"Don't say thank you for that" Najia said over her shoulder "We're family...we all have to pull out weight"

Sonya wiped her hands with a towel and approached the Doctor giving her a hug unexpectedly leaving her speechless and completely taken back for a moment, but then she closed her arms around her and surrendered to the embrace. 

"It's gonna be fine Doctor" she said squeezing  her tightly "Don't be scared" she said softly making Doctor's hearts melt

"Thank you Sonya...that's really lovely of you"

"Want some freshly squeezed orange juice?" she said opening the fridge

"That would be nice thank you Sonya"

"Hey I got everything from the market" Ryan walked in putting bags on the bar "Oh...hi Doctor" he turned around and hugged her as well

"Goodness...so many hugs today" she smiled surprised

"Is she gonna be alright?" Ryan asked concerned

"She's gonna be fine...they both will....just gave us a scare...a big scare...huge scare"

Here you go" Sonya smiled passing her a juice

"Thank you" she took a glass completely taken back by everyone flapping around her so much. Something she wasn't used to at all, but it felt so comforting at this point.

She sat at the bar quietly, twirling sonic in her hand. It was rare that anyone would see her so quiet. Nadjia glanced towards Sonya and nodded her head towards the Doctor

"Doctor"

"Yes Sonya"

"Would you like to go for a walk through the park? I know you're worried, but I think maybe you could use some fresh air"

She sighed deeply "Actually Sonya...I think you might be right...Nadji could you please..."

"Yep don't worry Doctor...I'll keep an eye on her you go...You need some air"

"Thank you"

"I know you're scared" Sonya said as they walked down the narrow path through the park and picked some fruit from the nearby tree "But you have to get used to it you know"

"How so Sonya...not sure I understand what you mean"

"You're gonna be mum now...means you're always gonna be scared...it won't ever go away you know. She will get born then you’re gonna be scared when she gets ill in the middle of the night...then you will be scared when she's climbing the three is she gonna fall and hurt herself, or when she goes to school is someone bulling her...who is she's hanging around with...when she goes out by herself you won't sleep until you see the lights in her room and know she's safely back home...it comes with the territory Doctor...might be a bit different in your life...but not much you know"

Doctor smiled from the corner of lips and glanced at Sonya "You're amazing person Sonya"

She smiled back at her and draped her arm around her shoulder "Not as amazing as you are...goofy...weird at times but bloody amazing...she's a very lucky girl to have you as her mum you know"

"I'm very lucky to be her mum...extremely lucky"

"She's gonna be just fine...and so is my sister...she's a tough cookie you know...one infection isn't gonna stop her...don't you worry...I think you’re stuck with her for a loooong time" she giggled

"I hope so...I hope forever"

"I'm sure you will...I mean come on...you do all this...save worlds, beat aliens, rebuild universe and you're trying to tell me you can't find a way to be with her forever...Neah...I don't buy that Doctor"

Doctor laughed from her hearts. Somehow Sonya managed to lift her up from the ground and shine her way in the simplest of ways proving to her how sometimes the wisest words can come from the most unexpected source and how universe always finds a way to get the message across.

"Hey...look at this" Doctor said bending over some bushes with big flowers and picked up something in her hand. She opened her palm slowly

"It's a flower" Sonya said bending over

"Are you sure?" Doctor smiled and nudged it with her finger

The bright pink wings started moving and the flower-looking bug made few steps  over the Doctor's palm before flying away

"Waaaaw....it looked like a flower"

"Yap...the outside doesn't always reflect what's on the inside" she smiled and poked her shoulder "Like with you" she smiled "Thank you Sonya...those were some wise words that I needed to hear...it really helped me"

"Really?" she asked surprised

"Really...come on...let's get back...Yaz and the baby need to eat something soon and something tells me that lunch is done"

"I'm starting to get hungry myself"

"Me too...I swear that was my stomach a moment ago...did you hear that?"

"Nooo" she laughed

Sonya bend over and picked a beautiful big pink flower "For Yaz" she smiled

"Hey look who's here?" Sonya jumped up seeing her sister slowly walking into the kitchen

"Hey" Yaz smiled

"She was insisting she could walk" Doctor said holding on to Yaz's arm "I am not supportive of this at all"

"Oh come on I'm not made out of sugar" she rolled her eyes smiling

"Here....sit here" Ryan pulled a small chair from the corner "You can't sit at the bar"

"Thanks mate"

"Hey sweetheart...how are you?" Nadji came up to her kissing her on a cheek

"Don't hurt anymore. I'm just a bit dizzy"

"It's from medication" Doctor said "She's gonna be like new by tomorrow...should be...very probably"

"Here...have some soup" Sonya brought her a bowl "Oh and this" she put flower in her lap

"OMG you all...what's all the fuss" she smiled "God that's beautiful...thank you" she pouted her lips

"Doctor and I got for you from the park when we went for a walk"

"You went for a walk together" she looked at the Doctor surprised

"Yeah...I can go for a walk with your sister...what's so weird about that?"

"Nothing" she said smirking "Nothing at all" she looked at Sonya laughing

"Doctor!" Hakim flew into the kitchen "I need you urgently"

"Shoot....Excuse me" Doctor said and ran out

"What's happening?"

"Aaaarrhhh I think I made it work Doctor but you see...I think we have a bit of a problem"

"Woooooow" she jumped seeing a massive portal at the console swirling bright blue light
practically to the ceiling of the Tardis.
She ran down the stairs pointing a sonic at it and it shut down immediately

"Waaaw...that was close" she sighed relieved and ran around the console reading all the data

"I'm impressed Hakim...gold star for you...still a bit unstable...but nothing I can't fix...little bit of adjustment and it won't shoot up to the ceiling" she laughed "Not to mention teleport me to the other end of the universe cause that would be inconvenient...I do hate when that happens...such a trouble to get back. Not to mention I can't be late for the baby....Yaz would kill me herself if I came back for her fifteenth birthday party"

Hakim laughed "Yeah please don't do that cause I think Nadjia would join her in killing you"

"Ups" she said lifting her head from the console "Right ...well...that's done for today" she said haply hopping back to Hakim "Let's eat" she tapped him on a shoulder smiling "Just interested...how did you open it?" she asked as they walked towards the kitchen

"Well everything has a code...and...did you ever do cryptology Doctor?...."

"You never cease to amaze me Hakim...are you sure you don't wanna travel with us?....Did I mention I can take you to most amazing places in the universe?"

Hakim laughed all the way to the kitchen

It was dawn, but the Doctor was already awake. She snuggled up against Yaz's back and buried her face in her thick hair, running her palm over her stomach. She felt the baby move which made her hearts melt into a puddle and brought a smile to her face. Yesterday had been a terrible day, a day she still hadn't fully recovered from, if she was being completely honest with herself. But waking up to a kicking baby can dispel any darkness from her mind.

"Hey you" Yaz smiled "That tickles" she took her hand and kissed her fingertips then turned around with a smile and a sleepy face

"Sooorry...couldn't help it" she scrunched her face "Go back to sleep it's early"

"Mmmm...I will...just wanted to kiss my wife before she leave my bed" she smiled stroking her face

"It can be arranged" she smiled and leaned over kissing her gently.

The Doctor's lips always tasted like candy in the morning and that was her favorite. She also looked super cute, still sleepy with curly hair and half open eyes. It was also the only time in the day when she could get a proper cuddle. Although Doctor loved snuggles she was rarely around at bedtime or in the morning, so Yaz learned to wake up before she left, and she also mastered the art of begging her to stay in bed at night.

She draped Yaz's leg over herself as usual and pulled her closer, which Yaz now knew was her way of feeling the baby kick against her own belly.

"I feel her" she grinned haply

"Oh she's super lively today. Actually woke me up an hour ago I could swear she kicked my bladder full force" she giggled

"I thought I heard you getting up...wasn't sure if I was dreaming "

"You seem better today" Yaz said wrapping her fingers around her face "I'm so sorry we scared you yesterday"

"Don't be silly Yaz" she took her hand and kissed the tips of her fingers "But I do feel better...Someone told me something I needed to hear"

"Who?"

"Your sister" she smiled

"Sonya? Really?"

"Mmmm" she nodded "She told me that I need to get used to this fear because it is essential part of being a parent. She's right you know...there's always gonna be something we will worry about and I can't let that take over me...It did yesterday...I haven't felt so scared in a long time Yaz"

"I know baby...me neither...I couldn't breathe"

"I'm gonna have to get up"

"Noo..." she grabbed hold of her slipping her arm around her "Just little bit longer...pleaseeee" she begged showering her face with kisses

"Oh alright then" Doctor giggled and wiggled herself closer "You're too good in this you know...You're wrapping me around your little finger completely"

"Oh shut up...you love it and you know it" she laughed and kissed her again

Two days passed and Yaz felt like new, but if the Doctor could, she would literally carry her around. She wouldn't let her walk for long and made her take an afternoon nap, she sat down writing out the entire schedule for Yaz demanding and begging her to stick to it. Yaz agreed for two reasons, one was her own fear and the other was to calm her down because she could see that the Doctor was not in her right mind, and she didn't want to stress her out anymore. It was early in the morning and the doctor made tea, then came into the control room and opened the Tardis door letting the morning sun in. She stood by the open door for a while watching a pair of birds in the sky flirting with each other flying in beautiful harmony and smiled as she went back inside.

It was almost lunch time as she was still working without lifting her head from the console for the past two days and most of the night. Everyone had gone to town a little earlier to get some basic things, so she and Yaz were alone. She also gave them a long list of things she needed for the Tarids repairs so she knew they wouldn't be back before evening. Yaz was sitting next to her in the armchair fiddling with the phone. Suddenly the sun disappeared, it looked like it was going to rain, and thunder was tearing the sky.

"Wooow...rain?" Yaz said getting up

"We could do with some rain" Doctor said not lifting her head from the console "At least it will cool it down...we can go for a short walk later"

"I'm gonna close the door...it's becoming windy"

"Alright potato...just walk slowly"

"Yes...yes...step by step" she laughed rolling her eyes as she came to the door.

Dark clouds gathered in the sky and lightning suddenly struck in the distance making Yaz jump. She leaned out peering through the door and frowned in confusion "Babe...I think you should see this"

"See what Yaz?"

"I don't think those are normal clouds"

"What?" Doctor lifted her head frowning confused "What do you mean not normal?" she hoped up the stairs and looked over Yaz shoulder "Staars Yaz...get inside!" she said pushing her in and slamming the door

"What's going on?"

"Aaarrrhh...Well...I think we just ran out of time potato" she ran around the console like crazy then Tarids sounded the warning"

"What do you mean?" she asked then looked up to ceiling "Is it exploding...the sun?"

"Not yet...sort of...but I don't  have a lot of time now" she said grabbing the teleport and started flipping the switches. Suddenly the ground shook and explosion could be heard in the distance "Yaz sit down now!"

"What are you doing?" she came up behind her

"I need to go up there Yaz...Get it repaired in time...joined efforts of me and your dad got this thing working...I was gonna do it anyway today...just didn't wanna worry you" she grinned

"What do you meant go up? You've got no clue how to repair it"

"Oh...you see but I do Yaz...I did a lot of work past two days" she said picking up stuff from the console shoving them in the bag frantically "I was planning  to tell you...but no time Yaz"

As the ground shook again Yaz grabbed the bar on the console looking at the Doctor so angry as if she's going to teleport her to the other dimension

"Don't look at me like that Yaz...I won't be long...promise....I just pop up there, get it fixed sharpish and come back in time to go for Ice-cream" she waived her hands grinning

"Ice-cream!!! Doctooooor!!!" she whined

"You sound upset...Annoyed...maybe?..." she ran towards her and kissed  her cheek then started setting up a tripod for the teleport "Hey...don't sulk Yaz...come oooon...I need you here in case something goes wrong....Not that it will cause it won't" she grinned

"I am upset and annoyed...and angry...What if it's a trap?...You said someone did this...you have no clue who" she said following her around

"I don't Yaz but the most important thing now is to get it fixed and save all these people....then I have time to find out who did it...You can help me" she smiled

"You can't buy me with that smile" she pointed a finger at her

"It's not a trap Yaz" she said mounting the teleport on a stand "I mean it could be...but very small chance of that...Who would do all this to trap me Yaz?"

"Oh I don't know...like I can name few just from the top of my head"

"Come on potato....relax...you need to think about the baby...and Ice-cream...I'll get you that pie you like"

Another tremor shook the Tardis and Doctor stepped back from the teleport "See...it's right there...you can waive at me" she said as the teleport got activated"

"I don't like this" Yaz said shaking her head

"Love ya" Doctor squeezed her face between  her palms and kissed her "See you in 5 minutes and 65 seconds...we can synchronize the watches"

"You don't wear a watch" Yaz raised her eyebrow

"Be back sharpish and sit down Yaz" she said and walked through

Yaz looked at the message pinging on her phone. Her mum texted her they are coming back. She was relieved at least her family is gonna come back and sighed turning around. Then suddenly the teleport shut down behind her back.

"Whaaa?....No no no...Oh come ooon...I knew this is all gonna go wrong...Cause why the hell not" she came up to it but had no clue how to activate it again so she went to the console looking around all the screens and millions of notes plastered all over it "Code...code...must be a code...aaaaarrh...come oooon...Ice-cream my ass...I swear when you come back I'm gonna...Aaaarrhhh"

Another strong earthquake hit the ground and she went to the door looking up at the sky. Her blood raced as she watched the sun go dark knowing the Doctor was right there and there was no way of her going back. It started to rain heavily, and everyone seemed to be in their houses except for a man who was running down the street. At least the tremors weren't as strong as before and she hoped the God the Doctor knew what she was doing because she could see bits of the sun falling through the sky and hitting the shield around the planet. She went back inside frantically trying to start the teleport.

The Doctor stepped through and found herself in the hallway made out of black granite-like massive stone blocks and an arched opening that led to a larger chamber. She took out the sonic and scanned the place. But as soon as she took the first few steps, the portal closed behind her.

"Oh cooome oooon...no no no" she pointed the sonic again, but it suddenly died "Really? Seriously" she was pressing it trying to make it work "Is this someone's idea of a nasty joke?"

"Might be" the voice spoke behind her sending chills down her spine "Hello dear"

"Master?" she whispered and turned around "You?"

"I was expecting Ooo" she smirks "How nice of you to drop by...please" he pointed  towards the other chamber and walked through the arch

She followed him turning around and pointing her sonic one more time to the teleport

"Won’t work here...electromagnetic field from the stones disable most stuff" he pointed "I didn't quite figure that one out yet...Please sit down" he pointed to the massive table in the room "I did think of sending a text but these days I don't have you number"

"How did you survive Gallifrey?...Funny that...why did cockroach just pop into my mind?" she walked around the table slowly, looking around the massive room that seemed to be relatively empty. She did notice one more room and glimpse of his Tardis way at the back hidden behind wall

"I still have some tricks up my sleeve...you're not the only one you know...I bet that hurts...it must"

She rolls her eyes "Not really...What do you want?" 

"What do I always want Doctor?...Oh, come on...seriously, you're much smarter than that"

"Why? Why are you doing this...what is it to you?  This planet?"

"I could ask you the same question...What do you care? Oh, but wait...yes...I forgot" he circles around her and leans in "It feeds your ego"

"I have no patience for your games...Can you pleeease get to the point...There is a point to this, right?" she follows him with her eyes as he is pacing around her

"Patience dear...please sit" he pulls a chair "Food isn't much...sorry my resources are limited due to apocalyptic event"

"That's fine I lost my appetite"

He rolls his eyes "Oh cooome oooon...Cheer up!...You used to be so much fun...What happened to you?...When did you become so boring?"

"When did you become so genocidal?" she walked down the length of the table sliding her fingers over the surface looking around the room for the operating system "Wasn't Gallifrey enough for one regeneration, or you're trying to beat your own record?"

"Just trying to get your attention" he sat down smug slumping himself in a chair "Where are you these days anyway? You're nowhere to be seen"

"Oh, you know me...can't keep still... So now what? You got my attention. Or you're seriously that desperate to blow up a planet for a chat?....Cause that's really pathetic even for you"

"No...not a chat Doctor" he got up quickly and walked up in front of her "We're gonna play a little game. You like games, don't you?"

"In principle yes...Just not your games" Doctor's eyes followed him around as he made another circle around her. She was dreading where this was going knowing full well she isn't going to like it.

"Oh, you will love this game" he shakes his hands and then takes an hourglass out of his pocket slamming it on the table leaving Doctor confused

"Come on...I put so much time into this...so much effort even you must appreciate it" he walker's over to the wall where a massive piece of fabric was covering something. She was wondering what's behind it but was pretty sure that question would be answered sooner rather than later. So, she stood there looking at his show. A show of a poor mad man that used to hold her heart. It was hard looking at him like this, each time more unhinged, more crazy...more deranged as the regenerations came and went.

"C'mere Doctor" he reached his arm out

She rolled her eyes and walked over as he pulled the fabric off.  

"This the operating system!" she said walking around suddenly exited to finally see it

"Amazing...isn't it?...The heart of the star. Fascinating machinery I must say I'm impressed...Took me a lot of research to figure out how it worked" he said with enthusiasm that reminded her for a second of a person he used to be

"Concentrate Doctor!!!" he snapped his fingers in front of her face reminding her he isn't that person anymore "Rules of the game Doctor...you don't have much time"

She turned to him again waiting for whatever madness is going to pour out of his mouth next

"Call your Tardis and I'll stop it from blowing up half of this galaxy...We leave together just you and me like it was always meant to be"

She laughed "Seriously...that's it? That's what you want...In your dreams" she looked into his eyes as he passed next to her

He comes close to her face, so close his eyelashes are almost ticking her face. So close she can feel him in every sell of her body

"Stop fighting it Doctor...you know I'm right...We belong together now more than ever...now we know the truth about who we are, who you are...One True Time Lord...Come on Doctor...you and me, last of our kind...Or should I say...first" he runs a finger underneath her chin

She shakes her head in disbelief "You really are delusional"

"I'm a Yin to your Yang Doctor can't you see it" he inhales her scent closing his eyes and rolling his head "We are a perfect match...creation and destruction...there's a piece of you inside of me and a piece of me inside of you"

"Are you finished? Or there's more to this madness? I'm interested...did you write this whole speech or it's just coming out naturally?"

"God you’re boring and stubborn" he turned around and rolls his head "Fine, have it your way then" he signed deeply "Then we die... We go with a bang Doctor....like supernova becoming a permanent part of the universe..." he shouted and she flinched "Fitting for us... don't you think?

"Your insane"

"I know....have been for a long time" he grins "Come oooon Doctor!!!" he shouts in her ear "Call your Tardis...there's no way out of here" he leans into her ear and whispers "You know you want to...I'm offering you a peace treaty"

She turned around to look at him without an answer, there was no answer to this, it was too insane. She kept thinking how far they are capable of pushing each other before one of them gives in. She felt his breath on her face as he walked  behind her and grabbed her arm twisting it on her back pushing her to the machine "Call the Tardis or they die!" he shouted in her ear pushing her to the floor

"No" she said shortly

He turned her around twisting her arm so hard it felt like he will dislocate it "Call the Tardis Doctor!!!" he shouted so loudly she closed her eyes then stood calmly staring at him as he shook, her eyes wondering around his face, her mind questioning how did they get to this place. Questioning why she even cares anymore.

The sound of Tardis jolted her and she turned around "Oh Yaz"

"Aaaaa...your pet came to the rescue"

Tardis screeched to a halt and the door opened Yaz came out of the Tardis slowly and Masters eyes grew wide, his mouth was left open as he was about to say something cutting but any words got stuck at back of his throat.

Tardis landed not far from them and Yaz was treading carefully when she saw him. Blood drained out her face "Doctor?" she said almost quietly

"Yaz...I told you to stay put...get back in the Tardis. Get out of here"

Yaz ignored her making few more steps then he raised his hand holding his shrinking machine "A, a...that's far enough" he said to Yaz holding it in front of her face.

Doctor froze "Nooo don't...pleaseee!!" Doctor yelled trying to get out of his grip

He started laughing like a mad man "Oh this is better than I thought"

"Let...her...go" Yaz repeat again

"Or what little one?" he looked down at her stomach laughing.

"Get back to the Tardis Yaz!!" Doctor yelled trying to get out of his grip desperately 

Yaz calculated quickly...her mind racing...he was holding the Doctor with only one hand waiving his device right in front of her face. It was his weak spot, but she had to be quick, can she be quick enough, because if she can't game over. She thought if she overthinks this one she may lose her chance so without thinking she grabbed it the way she was thought to disarm a person and held it right in front of him.

His face dropped "Interesting turn of events...do you know how to use it?"

Yaz turned quickly towards the table and shot shrinking it to a miniature then went back to him

"Impressive" he said

"I like to read" Yaz said

He tried grabbing it back but Yaz stepped back

"A...a" Yaz said and smirked "That's far enough...Now...LET HER GO"

He twisted Doctor's arm to a point she screamed in pain now holding her even tighter with both hands "So I see you gave up on her...clearly" he looked at her stomach "It's for the best you know, she never sticks around, not a committing kind I can tell you from experience...but just for a laugh, who's the father?" he started laughing

Yaz glanced at the Doctor seeing her clench her jaw

"Oh, come ooon Yaz...it's fun...Can I come for a baby shower? Should, I guess? Probably not that old git...what's his name...never mind...or was it just a quickie between the trips because your heart was broken?"

Yaz watched the Doctor nervously. 

"Sorry to disappoint you...it`s the mother" Doctor suddenly said looking at Yaz who nodded confused

He laughed like crazy but silence between them made him slowly stop laughing just staring at them. He looked at the Doctor who raised her eyebrow. 

"Noo...come on.." he laughed again looking at them both "Is this a joke?" he said turning to the Doctor

"Do I look like I'm laughing?" Doctor said to him and he blinked confused "I guess now you know where I've been all this time"

He looked at her wordlessly for a moment then blinked "How?"

"Oh, you know...the birds and the bees" she scrunched her nose

"You're lying!" he yelled shaking her and she screamed in pain again

"Am I?" she said without a blink, their eyes meeting in a brief silence. He closed his eyes "CONTACT"

Yaz felt him like she felt the Doctor each time. It was familiar but not the same. She locked her eyes to the the Doctor's face giving her reinsurance. She didn't fight him. She knew she couldn't anyway and a part of her didn't want too either. She thought this madness might end if she let him in. He didn't scare her, after everything Doctor told her she pitted him. She felt him digging through, she felt him inside her mind feeling every emotion, seeing every moment, going into each of her thoughts and memories. She felt him leaving her bare to him, but she didn't care.

He opened his deep brown eyes and was unusually silent, all the smug left his face. It was a broken person looking back at her. He looked at the Doctor somewhere between hate, love, and jealousy but mostly pain.

"Go" he turned to Yaz "Both of you" he said releasing the Doctor's arm

Yaz blinked confused

"Yaz get in the Tardis" Doctor turned her around as she still stared confused at the Master "Go Yaz!" Even Doctor looked at him shocked but she pushed Yaz before he changes his mind

"What about you? And this? And him?" she pointed to the machine

"I'm right behind you. I'll sort it out ...Goo Yaz nooow!!" she yelled pushing her

"I'll do it" he said calmly "Go...leave" he waived his hand

"You can't do this by yourself...you have no time" she looked at the hourglass broken on the floor

He grabbed her forearm "Get into the Tardis...Theta" he looked at her eyes then moved his focus  to Yaz over her shoulder "They'll need you alive in case I fail" he pushed her and turned around but Doctor grabbed his arm turning him around

"I'll see you around Doctor" he said calmly "Gooo before this place falls on your heads"

There was a short moment of silence between them and she was sure that for that single moment she was looking at the person he used to be. She grabbed the back of his neck and placed a long kiss on his forehead.
Yaz stood by the Tardis door watching then the ground shook so violently she had to grab the door frame.

Doctor ran towards her "Get inside!" she yelled

"What about him?" Yaz asked as they went inside

"His Tardis is there don't worry...let's go" she ran around the console flipping the switches as the whole place started to shake and frantically pulled the lever.

They screeched to a stop and Doctor walked calmly around the console taking Yaz's hand without a word leading her to the door.

The light ocean breeze was playing with their hair and warm sun bathing their faces. Yaz looked at the water glistening in the sun as she laid her head in her lap. Doctor was throwing pebbles in the water silently not saying anything since they came.

"You alright darling?" Yaz looked up at her squinting her eyes from the sun

"Yes beautiful" she smiled looking down and stroke her hair then put her other hand on her stomach

"He stopped it"

"He has yes"

"Why did you tell him?"

"I was trying to protect you.... besides...he would've found out sooner or later...I'm proud of you" she stroke her hair "I don't have enough stars for this one Yaz" she brushed her thumb over her cheek gently

"I don't understand...What changed his mind?"

She raised her gaze to the horizon and spoke quietly "How ever mad things get between us family was always where the line was drawn...so I knew he would let you go...I just didn't count on him letting me go"

"Wouldn't that be more of a reason to do it...harm her?"

"No... He saw what she was...felt her" she took a deep breath and threw another stone into the water "It's only us now Yaz...us three" she looked down at her and stroke her hair "She is the only continuation to what we are" she looked back up "Last of the Time Lords" she said
