She remembered the day she took Ryan and the Doctor to her parents apartment and Sonya thought she was paying them to be there. She was so lonely then. It was precisely because of this loneliness that she recognized the Doctor. Even then they didn't need words to feel each other's pain. But now her heart was so filled with the love of all those people around her.


"Hey mummy" Doctor kissed her shoulder. Her wet hair falling on her skin then her arms wrapped around her stomach gently

"Hey...you smell nice"

"I thought I'll never get it out my hair" she giggled into her neck kissing it

"I'm so tired" she leaned on her chest "Can we just lie down for a while"

"Lying down is a great idea Yaz...I must admit this heat is getting to me too...I need to move the Tardis...I should really do that now"

"Noo...it can wait till later"

"It will only take a minute"

"And then you will stay at the console" Yaz giggled "I know you"

"Alright...I'll move it later" she kissed her temple smiling

"Sorry I'm a limpet I know" Yaz giggled

"You're my favorite limpet" she rocked her side to side kissing her cheek "Come on mummy let's have a rest I still wanna take you to that special place this evening before dinner"

She took her hand walking her to the bedroom.

"You help me repair that gate tomorrow?" Doctor said running lazy lines down her arm

"Yeah!!" Yaz said exited

She desperately needed to feel useful and do whatever it took to feel like her pregnancy wasn't limiting every aspect of her life right now. And doing little things with the Doctor like before made her so happy and fulfilled that it was music to her ears. As exhausting as helping in the workshop was, she didn't let her know, it was worth the pain of sitting for hours with backaches and swollen legs and sweat dripping down her temples. She missed flying the Tardis and the repairs, learning new things every day. As much as she loved this new normal, she couldn't wait to have a baby and get back to all the other things that had been their life together for over ten years. But she also knew that the birth of a child would fundamentally change that same life, and she still wasn't sure in what way. A thought that sometimes scared her. And she knew that it scared the Doctor too, but she would never dare say that. They just lived day by day forgetting the reason why they were hiding on that distant planet. Putting everything to the back of your mind and enjoying every minute of their life and future together. At least the one they were both hoping for. Was it a dream, a wishful thinking....did the two of them just run away from reality and forget all the events of eight months ago? She wasn't sure, probably. But deep down she also hoped that they would be able to keep their little world of their own having their own little family despite everything out there, despite the warning that hung like a dark cloud over their heads. Something neither of them wanted to think about.

"The machine is done in two days Yaz...I'm so exited"

"I know it is...can't wait to start it up and see how it works. You think we managed?"

"Sure we did Yaz...we always do...Never have doubts"

"No? Not even a little bit?" she looked up to her giggling

"Never...we're smart you and me...nobody like us out there Yaz" she kissed the top of her nose

"No...that's for sure...there's nobody that mad out there" she giggled

"Mmm" she scrunched her nose "that as well" she giggled

The Doctor was silent for a while, gently caressing Yaz's hand and kissing her hair every now and then. Listening to the Tardis hum as she lost herself in her thoughts.

"Yaz"

"Mmmm?"

"I was thinking...You know when we finish this... Would you like us to go shopping with your mum and sister for the baby?"

"Whaaa? Yaz jumped up and sat on the bed with a huge smile on her face. "Really?... Seriously?

"Yeah...very seriously" Doctor smiled "I'm sorry Yaz my brains haven't really been there recently"

Yaz threw herself on her doting kisses all over her face making Doctor laugh "Yes yes yes yes and bloody yes...thank youuuu!!"

"Yaz you don't need to thank me for this...It's my kid as well...I'm so sorry" she took her hand and laced their fingers together "I told you...I'm not good in this...I'm getting lost a bit and I know I haven't been the best...But I am really trying"

"You are the best...best for me love"

"You have very low standards Yaz I must say" she giggled

Yaz put a hand over her face playfully "Shut up silly...You're the best I ever had Bighead and I wouldn't have you any other way. We're gonna figure this out together"

"So...you have a task because you know those things better than me. Make a list of everything we need because ones we're home we are not hopping with Tardis for nappies...What do we need Yaz? What do babies need?" she scrunched her face "I don't even know where to start Yaz...I'm useless in this"

"Honest..." Yaz sat on a bed giggling "I have no clue I'm gonna have to ask my mum...God help us both" she laughed

"Oh this is gonna be one tragic parenting between you and me" she chuckled

"That's why we have the most valuable bonus...my mum" Yaz giggled and winked

"We might have to borrow that bonus for a while"

"Somehow I don't see her complaining" she giggled

"C'mere mummy" The Doctor pulled her hand to lie next to her "I need you" she cupped her cheek and Yaz leaned against her palm closing her eyes, then the Doctor kissed her gently and pulled her leg over her hip with a deep sigh

"What's bothering you my beautiful Bighead?"

"I don't know Yaz...it's like something is pressing inside me that I can't explain...I've never felt like this before...At least I can't remember ever feeling like this. I just need you next to me" she rubbed gently nose over Yaz's and snuggled up.

She looked sad and worried and that worried Yaz. Not that they didn't have anything to worry about, but the Doctor rarely fell into this kind of melancholy, and Yaz knew something was lurking deep inside her when she did. She learned not to ask too many questions and just go with it. Be there and hold her in her arms and tell her how much she was loved. Sometimes she had a feeling that all the pain her beautiful wife was bottling inside would simply catch up with her from time to time. And she was convinced it was similar to human PMS when you just can't control your emotions. But the Doctor didn't remember her female regenerations so it was completely new to her and not something she knew how to deal with too much.

"Me looove you" Yaz smiled and kissed her all over her face and wrapped her arm around her

"I know you do beautiful," the Doctor said sadly, just lying there and looking into her eyes as if helplessly searching for an answer to a question she didn't have

"Everything will be fine...you'll see. We'll work it out together. And you'll build this machine because you're the smartest person in the universe...a real genius" she kissed the tip of her nose making her smile "And then we'll leave to get all the baby stuff and come home and cook together and make cakes wearing that silly apron you got me"

Doctor smiled a little "It's good apron"

"That's the best apron ever..." she smiled "And we're going to go for nice walks" Yaz continued "Save a few worlds here and there in the meantime because the universe still needs a Doctor" she giggled and ran a hand down her back

"And then? Tell me Yaz..."

"Then we will decorate everything for Christmas in August" she giggled

"Oh...it is August isn't it? Well on Earth anyway...oh well...no need to be picky"

"Yeah but who cares...we're time travelers ..we can have Christmas when ever we want.."

"Or have two" Doctor said smug

"Or have two...exactly...and then the baby will come" she smiled and pulled her hand out bringing it to the Doctor's cheek gently rubbing her thumb over it "And we will be soooo happy when that happens my love"

"We are?" The Doctor asked sadly in a shaky voice and Yaz saw a tear roll from her eye over her nose soaking into the pillow and her face turn red

"Soo happy darling...you have no idea" Yaz wiped her tears and kissed her face "Don't cry baby...I love you so so much. I know you're scared...we both are...but I believe in us"

"I need to keep us safe Yaz and I'm so scared..."

"Shhhhh..." she put finger over her lips "You're doing a great job...in fact a wonderful job...and you're absolutely spoiling me rotten. But you know what darling....we need to keep each other safe...ok...That's not just your job Thete"

"I like you calling me that" she said moving little strain of hair from Yaz's forehead

"I love your name...it's beautiful and I wanna shout it from the roof top"

"Please don't" she smiled

"I can whisper it to you when we are alone..." she smiled

"That you can...any time" she sniffled

"I adore you my beautiful Thete" she kissed her lips and another tear rolled down the Doctor's face

"Why Yaz? Why you love me so much? I'm just a mess...my life is mess"

"Home can be a person...and you are my home and my person. I don't need any other reason" she stroke her cheek and Doctor closed her eyes for a moment and all the tears that were stuck in them just rolled down her face "You and all your mess is all I ever wanted"

"That's bit scary Yaz" she smiled a little

"I love it all...you gave me the universe on a palm of your hand. You gave me more than anyone can possibly dream about"

"I just provided the transport Yaz"

"You silly sod..." Yaz giggled "You are my universe, you always have been since the day I met you"

"And you were mine Yaz" Doctor tucked her face into her neck "Just took a while for these old brains to admit it...I had to have a serious chat with them"

"Well I'm glad you have" she chuckled

"Yaz"

"Yes darling?" she asked running her fingers through her golden hair

"Please just hold me" Doctor wiggled closer and Yaz opened her arms and squeezed her tight.

Her hair smelling of summer rain was the Doctor's home, taking her to some beautiful place she couldn't quite remember. Her breathing against her skin was her lullaby as if her racing hearts were keeping up with the slow pace and it calmed them down. She buried her face deep into the crook of Yaz's neck and took a long breath. Maybe Yaz was right, she thought to herself. Maybe her mind was racing so much that she couldn't think clearly anymore. So she just settled into her arms and drifted off thinking about their little distant planet that she missed so much, about walks in the forest and swimming in the river. She thought of their hidden cave and the beautiful magical lake inside and dreamed of the day their baby would arrive in this world and what it would be like to hold her in her arms. She made herself think of all the wonderful things she had and she was pushing down her fears so hard and hoping to erase them all until she fell asleep in Yaz's arms.

Yaz held her tightly and kissed the top of her head. She felt her dreaming as she twitched slightly and made a snuggling sound against her neck. There was nothing cuter than the Doctor sleeping, and Yaz loved watching her. She still wondered what a Time Lord's dreams looked like.

Yaz was in the bathroom and to her surprise Doctor was still sleeping. She's been sleeping for nearly  three hours and Yaz left her to it.

"Yaz goodness" Doctor opened her eyes rubbing her sleepy face sitting on the bed. Her hair was all messy and eyes still swollen from crying

"Hey sleepy head" Yaz peaked from the bathroom smiling "Morning beautiful"

"How long did I sleep? Why didn't you wake me up?"

Yaz crawled on the bed on all fours smiling "And why would I do that?" she kissed her sleepy lips "You needed to rest and looked way too cute to be woken up" she smiled into her lips dotting kisses

"I'm everything but cute I can assure you"  she stroke Yaz's face lazy with her hand still half asleep

"I strongly disagree" Yaz crawled back on her feet barely managing to roll off the bed making Doctor laugh

"Wait I'll help you potato" she got up quickly and pulled her up "What's the time? I need to get ready...I wanna take everyone to that place I told you" she started zooming around and went into the bathroom

"Slow down...you're gonna pop a vein"

"I don't think I can Yaz" she peaked out of the bathroom brushing her teeth "Pop a vein I mean..."

Yaz shook her head laughing and took Doctor's clothes out of the drawer laying them on a bed. She was glad to see her happy again, iff only for a moment.

"Mmmmm...Did you tell you family we're going? Because if you haven't we need to let them you know" she quickly jumped into the shower and continued talking

"Yes babe I have...chill out" she rolled her eyes laughing

"Noo Yaz you don't understand we don't have time" she yelled from the shower "it's just something really special and it only happens every 1000 years...And I could go back if we miss it...maybe...possibly...but things are too messed up now and If I do go back we may miss a month or two and...well that would be...nevermind"

Yaz heard things fall on the shower floor, then something smashed the shower door and the Doctor yelped in pain.

"OMG are you alright there?" Yaz opened the door of the shower and Doctor was on the floor

"Yap...yap...fine Yaz...just slipped that's all" she picked herself up from the floor

"Have you recharged your batteries or what?...Slow down for god sake"

"Oh I'll be fine Yaz...that nap did me a word of good...I really needed a nap" she got up picking up shampoo bottles from the floor

"Alright babe just please be careful" Yaz laughed and closed the cubicle

"It will be so worth it...you'll see...Can't see stuff like this anywhere"

"Now you're getting me all exited"

Doctor got out of the shower hopping around naked drying her hair in a towel in a super speed then quickly getting dressed.

"You're nickers are inside out babe" Yaz laughed

"Oh," she looked down and shrugged "Never mind now, no time" she grabbed her trousers and pulled them on quickly then the rest of her clothes and hopped around on one foot getting her boots on "Aaaaaawww shoot" she looked at the broken laces then tied them the best she could "I need new boots"

Yaz just laughed and passed her the coat "Sonic?"

"In my pocket Yaz ...check" she said sitting on the edge of the bed tying the other boot

Yaz dug through her pockets and scowled as she took out the candy wrappers and placed them on the dresser. Then half a packet of custard cream that looked like it had seen better days, ribbons, a miniature rubric cube “Oh, how much stuff babe?

"Inner pocket Yaz...I never know when I need that stuff...it all has a purpose" she said fiddling with broken laces "When did this happen? How did my laces get broken?" she scrunched up her face confused

"Library babe" Yaz looked at her cheeky

"Oh.." Doctor looked up at her and she saw a light bulb lighting up in her head

"Yeah..." Yaz raised her eyebrow "here it is" she wiped the sonic out

"Brilliant..." she jumped on her feet and kissed Yaz quickly then grabbed her coat "Ready mummy? Let's go"

Doctor rushed to the console but nobody was there yet "Where is everyone?...No time Yaz...noo time"

"I'll go get them"

"I have a much better idea" she smiled and picked up the microphone "Attention all passengers...Tardis team...fam...Yaz's family...never mind...scratch Tardis team" her voice echoed through the Tardis "This is an emergency broadcast from the control room. We're leaving in one minute and 30 seconds" she looked at Yaz grinning pleased with her idea and Yaz just laughed wordlessly "Well I suggest you drop whatever you're doing...It would be really embarrassing to roll around floor when I start the engines"

"Coming...coming" Ryan ran inside still eating his sandwich

"Wait up Doctor" Hakim and Nadjia ran down the stairs

"Sonya?" Nadjia turns around "Where the hell is she?"

"Sonya darling" Doctor spoke into the microphone "I'm sure you look absolutely lovely as always but I really need you here in a control room....Like yesterday" she shouted quite loudly making everyone scratch their ears

"I forgot how loud she can shout" Ryan glanced at Yaz laughing scratching his ear

"I'm here....sorry" she ran down the stars "I lost my shoes...took me ages to find them"

"Oh that's Nardo" Yaz said "We let him out this afternoon he takes my shoes all the time and hides them....he's so cute"

"Right.. ready?" Doctor said happy flipping the switches and then placed her hand on the lever

"Take it away Doctor" Hakim yelled and they took off

The Tardis screeched to a halt and the Doctor jumped across the console room and grabbed Yaz's hand. "Come on...let's go" she opened the Tardis door and they all got out and walked outside on top of a massive cliff overlooking the huge cannon below. The moonlight lit up all the rocks like millions of diamonds covering the rocks beneath their feet as far as their eyes could see

"Wooooowwww...this is awesome" Ryan said holding Sonya's hand and pointing down below "Look daring over there" he said leading her as close to the edge as he could and her eyes opened wide.

"What a site" she looked at him exited

"This is magical Doctor...it's all the minerals" Hakim said

"Millions of years of settlement within the rocks Hakim... beautiful" The Doctor said "This whole place was the bottom of the ocean at some point" she gestured to the entire valley below "Fascinating isn't it?"

Everyone stood in silence for a while. Whispering and pointing to each other at different parts of the rocks that glow. Sonya rested her head on Ryan's shoulder, wrapping her arm around his waist. Nadjia and Hakim were holding hands and talking quietly. He was explaining to his wife all the science behind the magnificent place.

Yaz rested her back against the Doctor's chest and enjoyed in her rocking them from side to side. "What a world Yaz" The Doctor laid her head on her shoulder and whispered in her ear "I want to show you so much more Yaz"

"You will baby" she turned around and captured her lips briefly

Suddenly the sky started shining and Sonya pointed her finger above her head "Falling stars"

"Aaaa...it startled" Doctor said exited "That's the real reason why I brought you all here"

"Is it a meteor shower Doctor?" Sonya asked

"Tears of the Gods it's called...well...they're not really...just meteors...thousands of them Sonya...Wait until  you see the good part" she said haply then licked her finger and raised it up in the air above Yaz's head still holding her "In about three seconds"

And before the Doctor even finished her sentence, the whole sky lit up like fireworks. It was raining meteors. Millions fell one after the other like a glittering carpet covering the sky.

"Woooooowwww....look at that!" Hakim looked up amazed

"I love you Yasmin" Doctor whispered in her ear

"I love you too darling" Yaz said quietly and pressed her lips at hers kissing  her gently

"You're missing the show" Doctor smiled into her lips

"So are you" she smiled back then they watched in silence the rest of the beautiful display

When it all went quiet Doctor became hyper again "Right...now let's go to town for the feast"

"Feast Doctor?" Nadjia asked intrigued

"Yap...there's a great big feast tonight. They always celebrate this event," she said as they made their way back to the Tardis. "It is believed that the next year will be blessed when the gods have cried out all their sorrow. A new beginning, a new chapter"

"That's beautiful" Sonya said

"It is...Oh you will love it. There's gonna be food and music and dancing....I love dancing" she hopped around the console

"Do you believe in God Doctor?" Ryan asked

"I believe in energy Ryan…" she said as she prepared to fly again "I believe that all creatures in the universe have energy that comes from tiny particles of consciousness. They interact and communicate, exchange information and grow, learn. .evolve. And all is consciousness is a part of the universe that breathes with it as one big organism" she shrugged her shoulders "I guess some call it God"

"Do you pray Doctor?" Sonya asked intrigued

"I speak to the universe...argue with it as well...It knows all the secrets of my hearts" she winks and glances at Yaz "Come on...we don't wanna miss the best part of the celebrations and I'm really hungry now as well" she pulled the lever

When they landed, music could be heard in the control room and when the Doctor opened the door, they found themselves in the middle of a busy square. The Doctor came out and the little kid bumped right into her.

"Did you just come of that box?" the kid looked up to her

"Yeah I suppose I did" she smiled

"What were you doing inside the box?"

She crouched down to his level and whispered in his ear "Can you keep a secret?" He nodded exited "It's a spaceship"

"Whaaa? That can't be a spaceship...it's too small"

"Oh well…it's a little bigger on the inside," she nodded pointing

The kid frowned "That's a lousy spaceship lady" he ran off unimpressed

"Oh boy...she's not gonna like that" Ryan leaned towards Yaz

Doctor got back up and scrunched her face "Well that was rude...Lousy! Did he just call Tardis lousy"

"He's just a kid" Yaz pulled her sleeve rolling her eyes laughing "Get used to it babe...god knows what we will here from ours"

"She'll be much better behaved than this Yaz…that's for sure" she straightened her coat and started walking, only to be distracted by a street performance within two seconds and dragging Yaz through the crowd

"Fire twirling batons...look" she pointed towards the dancers "Oh I love fire twirling batons"

Drums beat and dancers spun and threw fire batons into the air, then a girl took a sip of a drink and blew into a torch. A flame blazes above her head.

"This is so much fun" Sonya said clapping her hands with the rhythm of the music

"I love the music" Doctor wiggled her bum completely out of rhythm but she was doing her best. Yaz looked at her laughing thinking how absolutely adorable she was. Her heart skipped a beat seeing her happy and laughing again..

They walked the busy streets and stopped at almost every stall. Ryan was buying jewelry for Sonja, and Najia was looking at a beautiful scarf at one of the stands.

The Doctor and Yaz walked slowly eating fine pancakes filled with fruit and something very similar to ice cream with a jam-like spread that tasted like strawberries

"Don't you want anything from the stands Yaz?" the Doctor asked, turning to face her

Yaz laughed and wiped the jam from the corner of her mouth with a tissue "Honest you eat like a kid...No babe...I have everything...besides we need baby stuff now"

"They have toys further down" she pointed with the pancake and spoke with her mouth full which made Yaz laugh even more

"Alright babe I suppose we can get more toys...just in case the thousand we already have isn't enough"

And so they did. The Doctor bought 5 more toys, justifying that they are all for different ages and are not the same at all.

"Hey...look" Hakim pointed as they came to another little square "Wanna dance?" he turned to his wife

"Whaaaa? " she looked at him suspiciously "What was in that drink?"

"Some fruit that's all...C'mere" he pulled her hand through the crowd and to the dance floor

"Aaaaaa dancing" Doctor jumped "Wanna dance Yaz?"

"I can roll" she laughed

"That's fine mummy I'll roll you" she took her hand exited "Hey you two" she called for Ryan and Sonya "Whanna come?"

"Neah ….I have two left feet remember" Ryan said "You have fun"

"You can still dance with two left feet Ryan...not all species have left and right"

"Alright leave them be" Yaz pulled her for her coat

"Just saying Yaz" she completed "Am I being a bit too much?"

"No baby, you're just being you again and I like that... Come on... roll me sexy" she laughed and pulled her coat as hard as she could towards the dance floor almost sending the Doctor flying through the air

They danced a bit until Yaz could no longer feel her feet, then the Doctor found a stack of wooden boxes and lifted Yaz up on top of one of them so she could sit and watch. She stood below her, squirming out of rhythm and looking at her from time to time with a big smile on her face. Then the fireworks started and the Doctor jumped onto the wooden crates lifting Yaz to his feet. Together they watched the beautiful display.

"Remember the fireworks at the Elf warehouse Yaz?" she said still looking at the sky

"Of course I do," she said, looking up

"I really wanted to kiss you then" she turned to Yaz and their eyes met.

Yaz's eyes filled with tears as the Doctor looked at her lovingly "Why don't you do it now?" she smiled

The Doctor pursed her lips for a moment, then reached for her hand, hooking her index finger into Yaz's, pulling her in. "I was such a dork, you know," she cupped her face in both hands and kissed it passionately.

A loud bang surprised them both and they smiled as the sky lit up with beautiful lights. The Doctor pulled her in front of her and wrapped her arms around her stomach
