Chapter 1

 

 

 

The Doctor sets coordinates to a little planet where they are meant to pick up some parts for Tardis. She desperately needs to do some repairs before they get stuck in some godforsaken place and can't come back. She's been putting it off for a while now, always distracted by some new adventure.

 

"Ok we're here. Just a little side note." Doctor turns around to Dan and Yaz just as she was about to open the door…"Don't buy anything on the stands...it is tempting, but you never know what you will get.... trust me. We don't want something coming alive in here. Last time it took me 3 months to get that Bunbir out of here."

 

Dan and Yaz look at each other with question marks flying around their heads

 

"Do you understand any of that?" Dan asks Yaz confused

 

"Nah, just go with it" she nods her head

 

"Right, let's go" Doctor opens the door

 

They landed in a small alley that looks like one of those places in the far east. Houses built out of local clay bricks light cream color, with small round windows and arch doors. The air smells of summer. It is hot, really hot and the three seem way over dressed for a place like this. Sand is getting into their shoes as they walk to the bottom of the road that opens into a huge open market with what seems like hundreds of small stands. The place is buzzing with life. Thousands of different aliens from different places in the galaxy...some looking like humans, and some are strange with big heads, small bodies and big eyes. Some look like cute little fluffy creatures with big ears and big beautiful blue eyes. As Doctor walks, not fazed by any of it, just concentrating on where she needs to go and what she needs to do, Yaz and Dan keep slagging behind her, completely blown away by the place.

 

"Go on you two...We haven't got all day" she tells them off like two kids

 

"Ooooh that's what I need" Doctor gets distracted at one stand

She picks up this strange looking thing that jiggles in her hand like a live jelly

 

"Oh, you have picked up the rarest thing in this part of the universe madam. It's the best quality, grown on plantations in the mountains. The purest I assure you"

the merchant is sweet talking her into buying it

 

"How much?" Doctor asks suspiciously

 

"For you madam only 300 quarts" he pulls the cheesiest green on his face

 

"Too much" Doctor crumples her face "I will give you 200 quarts"

 

"NO, NO I can't go that low...it's the best quality, my ill daughter was picking it the whole night as well. 280 is my lowest price"

 

Whilst they are bargaining for the price Dan gets distracted by a cute small animal with no hair, huge blue eyes, and big floppy ears. He reaches out to touch it, but Doctor just slapped his hand out of nowhere

 

"Do not touch anything Dan!!"

 

She continues with bargaining "Too much mate" she flaps around "That stand there just wanted to sell it for 230" she points across the stands randomly

 

"Oh him...he always steals my customers. Alright then...230 just so you don't go over there" he puts his arm out with an open palm of his hand and Doctor just slapped it "Deal!!"

 

They continue going through the market

 

"Doctor...what is that thing?" Yaz asks but she is totally discussed by the looks of it

 

"This is very important, Yaz. It's called Uru Uru and it only grows here on this planet.... It was a good deal...usually it costs around 450 quarts you know....and he was right...it is the best quality"

 

After a few hours of going around and buying things like jelly, fishing net, a pot, some bolts, and what looks like a children's toy they are finally done. Doctor filled up a whole bag of random stuff for which Dan and Yaz really couldn't find any purpose.

 

In the evening Yaz was coming down the corridor when something just ran by her foot. She screamed from the top of her lounges

 

"Doctoooorrrr!"

 

Dan comes running

 

"Did you see him?" Dan asks

 

"Rat...we have rats!!!" Yaz is screaming and freaking out

 

"What in a name is going on?" Doctor storms from the back clearly irritated by them two making a fuss

 

"Rats...we have rats on Tardis Doctor!!! He's right there" Yaz points with her finger to the hallway

 

"It's not a raaat, he is cute" Dan is explaining as if he knows exactly what that was

 

"Dan, did you buy something on the stands?. When I specifically told you not to? " Doctor looks at him furiously "Dan!!! What did you bring on my ship!!?"

 

"He was so cute...and I couldn't just leave him there...the guy was giving me a recipe how to cook him"

 

Doctor goes right in his face

"Dan... was it that thing with big ears?"

 

"But they were going to cook him Doctor" Dan is desperately trying to justify himself

 

"Aaaarrghh Dan" she covers her face with her hands in disbelief "What have you done...We need to find it immediately or we're going to have 50 of those in less then a month"

 

"Do they multiply? " Yas is horrified

 

"No... but it will have babies, believe me it wouldn't be the first time. Took me 6 months to get rid of them last time"

 

"How? It's just him?" Dan's confused

 

"Because Dan he isn't really, he...he is both...Long story.... just look everywhere"

 

After a solid hour of searching and running around the Tardis trying to catch the creature, Yaz finally calls from the kitchen

 

"I've got him!!!"

 

She hands the creature to the Doctor who immediately spots something even more worrying

 

"Oh, it's about to pop.... She smiles...Well it's good we got you in time...isn't it? I'm glad you're not cooked but you can't stay here...this no place for your babies" she's goas all soft on a little one but then turns towards Dan really upset with him

 

"And you.... When I say don't buy anything I mean it. Or I will leave you on that planet together with him next time"

 

Yaz just hits Dans arm making him listen to the Doctor

 

Later, they managed to return the little creature back to his planet unharmed. Doctor dropped him off on another side where hunters won't be able to find it. It made Dan happy and Yaz even more...

 

"Yaz" Doctor calls her as she was about to leave the room

 

"Yes Doctor" she turns around and walks back in front of her

 

"I got you something" Doctor smiles really excited and starts scrambling through her pockets

"It's somewhere here.... ohhh...hold this" she's emptying her pockets into Yaz's hands, a paper, a hair pin, a ribbon, rubber duck

 

"You have a rubber duck? " Yaze's face is totally confused

 

"Well yeah...you never know when I need one... and they're fun.... Oh, here it is" she quickly puts all the stuff back into her pockets and hands over to Yaz a little silver cube with unusual writing on it.

Yaz is twisting it in her hand trying to work out what it is

 

"Thank you...what is it?"

 

"Let me show you...so you turn it like so" she twists top and the bottom in opposite directions "and you press this...aaand..."

 

Suddenly a hologram projection of the whole universe opens up above them

 

"There...." Doctor smiles "Isn't it amazing"

 

Yaz is mesmerized by it, her eyes open wide like she's a little excited child  "Waaaaaw...this is beautiful"

 

"But...that's not even half of it Yaz....look..." she touches the hologram and shows Yaz how she can magnify and zoom into every part of it, every galaxy and every planet and a star in it.

 

"And see those dots there...This is us...this one is you... and that one is me." she points to the map with her finger

 

"So now you will always know where I am and you will never be able to lose me again" she casually moves a lock of Yaze's hair from her face and tucks it behind her ear, as if this is something she's done before, but the truth is that she never has. It was a new gesture she just automatically had a need to do

 

"OMG that's awesome...Thank you so much, it's gorgeous" she spontaneously just throws herself at the Doctor and hugs her tight like she did many times before, but this time she quickly pulls away... their eyes met in silence

 

"I'm glad you like it" Doctor smiles proudly

 

"You never got me a present before?"

 

"I should've" a pinch of sadness shows in her eyes as she's saying it and she just lightly strokes Yaz's hand trying to be unnoticeable

 

Yaz doesn't know how to react to that...After the agreement on a beach she gets lost in moments like these. When lines of friendship have been blurred by confession of love. It was so much easier before, but now every touch and gesture have a different undertone to it.

 

"Right...well...ok then...keep it safe, don't lose it"

 

Doctor stumbles around it clearly feeling the same. She breaks eye contact and turns towards the console. She closes her eyes for a moment and takes a deep breath. She's finding it difficult to honor what she said but she knows it's a right thing to do

 

"Right...I'm off to bed then" Yaz just looks at the floor and turns around to walk away her emotions are starting to get the best of her

 

"Night beautiful " the words just come out uncontrollably out of Doctors mouth and she scrunches her face

realizing what she just said

 

Yaz just stopped for a split second not sure she heard that right

"Night Bighead" she smiles 

Chapter 2 

 

 

​ It's morning and the Doctor overslept. This has never happened before...this kind of thing just doesn't happen to her. And to her surprise it's unexpectedly quiet in a Tardis. By this point Yaz and Dan would already be bickering about something silly like kids, but they are nowhere to be seen. The Doctor is trying to find them but in vain. They are parked in a temporal zone so it's not like they can disappear into the thin space. She goes straight to the console to check, hoping they just got lost in the depths of Tardis and don't know how to get back. It wouldn't be the first time she had to go and look for them. For now she's not worried, but as soon as her check came up with nothing she started to get nervous. Tardis readings are all over the place, she's not getting anything on a console or with a sonic. She goes to the door and opens it up, but everything looks normal still in a temporal zone.

"Right...what in a name is going on here.... Could it be...No, but that's not possible...Or is it?"

​

She checks to see where she can locate them and she's getting a strange reading. Yaz is in Sheffield and Dan in Liverpool. Doctor smacks her head few times

 

"It can't be...My brains are fine...I remember...I clearly do. I didn't leave them home yesterday. Why are you there??? Uh that's strange, and why is there a force field around the Earth...what is going on?

No time to waste...But first thing first. Come on girl take me to my Yaz" she pulls the lever

 

Tardis lands in Sheffield and when Doctor comes out, she can see Yaz by the side of the road. But she's confused because Yaz is wearing a police uniform talking to someone on the phone.

 

"What is going on here?" she mutters in her chin  "Yaz!!!" she calls her across the road

 

Yaz turns around "Let me call you back" she says to a person on the other side 

"Yes madam? Can I help you? Do I know you?"

 

Doctors face goes white...she is speechless for a moment trying to understand what is going on

 

"Do you know Yasmin Khan?" Doctor quickly thinks of a way how not to sound weird whilst trying to work out in her brain what is going on

 

"Yes, that would be me? Can I help you madam?"

 

"It depends...You're not her...or are you?" she's mumbling in her chin

 

"What?" the young woman is confused

 

"Oh, never mind. What year is this?"

 

"Madam...are you feeling alright. Are you lost?"

 

"That depends"

 

"On what? Can I call someone?"

 

"No... nobody to call...not just yet" Doctor pulls a sonic and screens Yaz with it

 

"Excuse me Madam, what is that? What did you just do? " She is now getting uncomfortable

 

Doctor is ignoring her questions looking at the sonic reading

 

"Your readings are off. You're not who I think you are. Are you? How is that possible? Aaaarrghh"

 

"Excuse me Madam, can I have your name please?" the woman priciest

 

"I'm the Doctor" she answers not even looking at her, just the sonic

 

Yaz is about to write it down, but she gets confused "Doctor Who?"

 

"Just the Doctor" she's still trying to work out things by scanning the street and the cars and pointing sonic into the air whilst a woman is trying to follow her around and get some answers

 

"Where do you live?"

 

"Around...nowhere specific" she finally turns around to look at her "I'm so sorry I need to go...Nice meeting you Yaz"

 

She turns around and starts walking...then comes back "Oh...Just one more thing...If Ryan finds something in the woods, please tell him not to touch it"

 

"What?"

 

Doctor walks away leaving her on a side of the road confused, thinking that this woman is seriously unhinged

 

When she came back to the Tardis, she's trying to make sense out of the situation

 

"Future...no... can’t be...Past...no it would show...Aaaaaaa...nooooo...can't be...Can it? Parallel dimension? How is this possible...How can you be there and yet not here." she's still looking at the readings, but they are still showing a mess

 

"Why is everything off...Ok...only one way to find out" she pulls the lever

 

She lands in Liverpool and as soon as she steps out, she can see Dan in front of his house. That's odd in itself, because his house was shrunk by Karvanista

 

"Hey Dan!!" she yells again

 

He turns around

 

She walks up to him and starts scanning him with a sonic "Sorry...You probably don't know me?

 

"Nooo" he is all confused "What are you doing? What is that?"

 

"Sorry, a bit of a long story.... I don't really have time to explain. What year is this?"

 

"2022??? Same as yesterday. Who the hell are you and what is that thing in your hand...that stick thing?" pointing at the sonic in her hand

 

She's ignoring him looking at the sonic "Same...exactly the same as Yaz"

 

She then scans herself and looks at the reading "Ok now, that's reaaaly weird!!!!"

 

"Ok...thanks for that Dan... I know you're confused...Of course you're confused...but I lost you and I really need to find you and I don't have time to explain" she flaps around

 

Dan is just standing in complete disbelief not understanding one word that is coming out of her mouth

 

"Right...I need to go now. Bye Dan" she just runs off

​

Back in a Tardis she's doing some last checks on a console

 

"Oh, that's bad...That's really, really bad...Come on girl we need Jack for this one"

 

She lands in 1910 France and as soon as she opens the door Jack is running from what looks like a Dinosaur

 

"Get the car going Doctor!!!!... We neeeed to leeeave...Now!!!!!!" he's running straight for her

 

"Whaaat is thaaaat?" The Doctor's mouth is wide open, and she cannot believe what she's seeing. She quickly moves away from the door to let Jack inside and slams the door shut. But that thing chasing him is now rolling them around like a toy. They are both flying around Tardis like rag dolls yelling and screaming.

 

"Get us out of here!!!!!" Jack is screaming from the top of his lounges whilst trying to hold on to something

 

"I'm really trying Jack!!!!" Doctor is trying to grab the console to get them out and after being thrown around few times she managed to grab on to something so she can get them in the air

 

Her hair is all over the place as if she's been in a tornado. With her jacket over her head. She quickly puts herself back in order.

 

"What was that thing? I landed in 1910. What is a Dinosaur doing there?"

 

"You're asking me? He came out of nowhere and he has friends. They are all over the place. What have you done?"

"Meeee....??? What makes you think this was me?" she says offensively

 

"What are Dinos doing in 1910 France? I didn't put them there?" Jack goes into her face

 

"Well Jack it's not like I have them in my back pocket, is it?"

 

"You have loads of things in your pockets, Dino wouldn't surprise me...And where's everyone else? Why are you alone?"

 

"Lost... trying to find them...Long story....I need your help...Well sort of lost...they're still there, it's just not them... Well, it is them but not the ones I need.... Wrong timeline" she running around console like manic

 

"Ha? What are you talking about?"

 

"Ok...We're in a temporal zone now...We should be fine for now until I figure this thing out properly" she finally turns around to Jack

 

"Time it's going wild...It's all over the place Jack and things, people are not where they're supposed to be, like someone just jumbled it all together in a big pot similar but not the same as during Flux. Dan and Yaz are in some sort of a parallel dimension and their dimension... Well, Its gone!!"

 

"But first I need to pick someone up" she scrunched up her face knowing Jack will disapprove what she's about to do

 

"Who?" Jack is just waiting for her to come up with something insane

 

"Yaz..."

 

"What???"

 

"Whoever is doing this Jack, removed her from me. She has no clue who I am because its not really her, it is and it isn't , well her from another dimension , but I need to keep her safe. She can possibly be a target and I cannot allow that to happen. I need her safe and the only way I can do that now is to keep her by my side at all times "

 

"So, you will just kidnap her? Are you insane!!?"

 

"Nooo...just a little nap" she turns around avoiding him

 

""You are insane!" he smacks his forehead with his hand not believing what she just said

 

Doctor grabs controls not really caring what Jack is saying "Ok let's go get Yaz"

 

Back in Sheffield she comes out of Tardis with Jack following her. He grabs her sleeve and turns her around

 

"She has noooo idea who we are!!! You can't just grab her from the street"

 

"I'm not going to grab her Jack...I'm just going to talk to her...relax...really you worry too much" she taps him on a shoulder and continues to walk towards Yaz who is still standing on a street where she left her not so long ago

 

"Hi there again...You remember me? This is my friend Jack" she points at him smiling

 

"Madam? How did you...You just left?" the woman is obviously confused looking around trying to make sense of things

 

"I need you to go with me...You are in danger, and I have no time to explain. But I promise I will as soon as we come to Tardis"

 

"What!!! I am not going anywhere with you!!! And you have some explaining to do or I will call my superior officer right now!!!"

​

Jack is observing Doctors madness from the distance already imagining them both having to escape jail when suddenly the ground started to shake, and everyone stopped and went silent...slowly turning around. The whole cavalry of middle age armed soldiers on horses is heading their way from the bottom of the road. Yaz opened her mouth and just stood frozen in time.

 

"Doctoooor!!! I think it's time to go" Jack points down the road ready to run as fast as he can

 

"I think you're probably right. Ruuun!!!!" she yells pulling the young woman for her arm

 

They are running as fast as they can, but horses are approaching them faster

 

"Run faster!!!" Doctor yells and quickly opens Tardis doors practically throwing everyone inside. She runs to the console and gets them of the ground as fast as she can

 

Once again, she parks them in a temporal zone. The only place she can think of to keep them safe from chaos out there

 

"Ok we will have to pick up Dan as well but first we need to figure this out. Who is doing it and from where, and more importantly why are they doing?"

 

Yaz is in shock and just staring around the Tardis "Who are you people? And what is this place?"

 

"Oh, sorry Yaz honey, forgot you were here. This is my ship, it's called Tardis. This is Jack, he is my friend and we are in space"

 

"What? What are you talking about...how can we be in space? …Who are you people and, whaaaat was that out there? Take me back home now!!! " She is trying to catch her breath as she feels her hart is going to pop out of her chest

 

Doctor goes to the door of the Tardis and opens them up..."See I'm not lying we are in space"

 

"Whaaat????" Yaz walks slowly to the door "This is impossible!!"

 

Doctor smiles "Is it?"

 

The woman turns around and defiantly looks at the Doctor "You kidnaped me!"

“I’m sorry I had no choice” Doctor shuts the door and starts pacing around justifying her action “I cannot let you be harmed…I know this is very confusing right now”

​

“Harmed by who…by what? How do you know my name?”

​

"I can't tell you that, you have to trust me. What I can tell you is that I'm here to keep you safe. The time is getting disrupted.... people and things are misplaced...thrown throughout the timeline, like those soldiers…they do not belong to your time. I need to keep you from harm, and this was the only way for me to do it. I'm sorry I can't tell you more" she turns towards Jack when the next question rips her ears

 

"But what about my wife?"

 

Doctors brain glitches for a second "You're who?"

 

"My wife? I can't just leave her...she's going to wonder where I am"

 

Doctor feels like someone just punched her in the stomach. She closes her eyes for a second to gather her thoughts and then finally turns around

 

"I will bring you back to the same point when we men. Put you back into your timeline. She won't even know you were gone. We have a time ship...right?"

 

"Ok...promise. You're not just telling me that, are you?"

 

"I promise"

 

Doctor is trying to gather her thoughts, she should know better, that this woman standing in front of her is not her Yaz. But this one is hard even for the Doctor to digest. …Yaz from some other timeline without the Doctor...having a wife...having another life. She's even finding it hard to call her by her name, but she needs to collect herself

 

"Yaz...we will stay here through the night and leave in the morning. I need time to make a proper plan. I got a room prepared for you, up the stairs on the left and the fifth door on the right. Oh, and don't wander off...it can take weeks to find you. I promise this will be over soon”

 

As soon as they are alone Jack is already by her side eager to say what's on his mind.

 

"I know you mean well but this is mad even for you. And you can't cope"

 

"Who me? Don't be silly...why wouldn't I be able to cope. We just need to find out who's behind this. Fix time, get Yaz and Dan and everything will be fine" she's avoiding him by walking around the console, but Jack was always persistent and he keeps following her every step

 

"What's going on inside your head? Even better, what's going on between you and Yaz? Spill it out?"

 

"Nothing...Nothing's going on...I don't know what you're talking about" she bends over the controls twisting and turning stuff making it out as if she's doing something extremely important hoping the interrogation will stop, but deep down she knows Jack and she knows it wont

 

Jack grabs her wrist to stop her "Stop playing games. Be honest with me if you want my help." he turns her around so she can't avoid him anymore

 

"You're in love with her, aren't you? I saw that look when she mentioned her wife. You looked like someone twisted your insides"

 

"I need to get her back...I need to put everything right...I made a mess out of everything Jack...What have I done?" the weight of her decision fell like a burden on her back, if she was able to change the past at this moment, she would but she can't

​

“Mess out of what? You told me you didn’t do this? What are you talking about?”

 

“I told her I can’t be with her Jack. I’m such a coward…Why did I do that?”

 

“Well, you know how to complicate your life, I’ll give you that one”

 

Jack hugs her tight "Will get her back don't worry. So, what do we know and where do we start?"

 

"I think this has to do with Time…again. I did get the warning last time Jack and I think this is it ...Only different. Dimensions are crushing, disappearing... We need to go to the temple of Atropos, Its the only place I can get some answers from, but I have no coordinates of how to get there….I don’t even know where it is. Tardis didn't get any reading from there last time because we were pulled there by force, so I have no idea how to get there. It’s a planet that technically doesn't exist.... unless...and that's just a wild guess"

 

"What?"

 

"Well...how do you like ancient Greece?" 

Chapter 3

 

​

 

The Doctor lands Tardis in the middle of a massive library in Athens.

​

“Yaz, me and Jack will go and have a look for some answers, and I want you to stay here in a Tardis. You will be perfectly safe here”

​

“But that’s just stupid…Why can’t I just go with you?”

​

“Because it’s not safe” Doctor heads towards the door but the woman stands in front of her not letting her pass

​

“I know how to take care of myself you know, and since I’m here now with you at least I want to be included. Please. I don’t want to just sit around do nothing. I know I don’t understand exactly what’s going on, but I do understand enough to know that the world is going to shit. So please let me help…I have people I love as well, and my family I want to protect. Please let me go with you” the young woman is defying a Doctor not excepting no for an answer

Deep down she was worried and scared, but she made up her mind that this fear isn’t going to stop her, and she will not going be intimidated by this woman she barely knows for a day. A woman who literally snatched her from her life and dumped her in a middle of what seems like a syfy movie. She decided to stand her ground and not move an inch until she is allowed to join them.

​

“This isn’t a discussion, its too dangerous out there and I cannot protect you. Stay in Tardis” Doctor tries to move pass her, but the woman blocks her way again

​

“I deserve answers…You can’t just kidnap me with no explanation and expect me to just take your orders like a child. If that’s the case than don’t even bother and take me back to my family” she continues to be persistent

 

Doctor looked at her for a short moment…Standing with her arms crossed at her chest, looking defiantly straight into her eyes demanding an answer. It was immediately clear to her that as much as this woman is from some other timeline, she is still very much the same character as her Yaz. And Doctor knows too well this conversation isn’t going anywhere because Yaz doesn’t give in, and she never takes no for an answer. So, she finally caves in.

​

She releases a deep sigh and mutters “Fine…but you do not wonder off, you do not touch anything and listen to me. Deal?”

​

“Deal!” smile stretches over her face

​

“You also can’t go dressed like this either” Doctor points at her police uniform eyeing her head to toe “Jack will show the way… Go get changed”

 

Doctor was waiting by the door when Yaz came out in a blue dress that wrapped her body like a veil. Her hair was braided into a thick braid, adorned with ribbons that fell over her shoulders. She paused for a moment, amazed at her beauty. She kept having moments where her brains played tricks on her and was having to remind herself that this woman was a stranger. So, she quickly turned her look away and made herself concentrate on what she needed to do. 

​

They walked out into a massive library stretching for what seemed like miles. Stone pillars lined up a huge hallway holding a massive ceiling

​

"So... we need to find information on the planet of Time or Moirai. Anything we can find. Jack, you go that way and Yaz and I will look there" she points on opposite sides of the massive building

 

"Doctor there, look...that's the section" Yaz points her finger to the engraving on one of the stone pillars

 

"Yaz, do you know Greek?" Doctor is astounded

 

"Yes, I taught myself few years back " she smiles proudly 

 

"Well, I'm truly impressed Yaz!"

 

After intensive search through hundreds of scrolls for hours, Jack finally seems to stumble on to a glimpse of hope

 

"Doctor!! I think I got something here, look...It says the secrets of time will be revealed to the one who passes through the maze"

 

"Knossos!!!! all three of them yell at the same time

 

"10 points for Jack!!…Now let's go team"

 

Doctor grabs a paper and starts running towards the Tardis, But the ground beneath them trembled and the sound of cracking stones echoed around them. They run trying to protect their heads from lumps of stone falling from the ceiling. The whole wall suddenly collapses and reveals the horror that threatens them from the outside. A beam of smoke rising to the sky from the volcano obscuring the sun.

Doctor grabs Yaz by the arm and pulls her the second before a huge chunk of the ceiling almost fell on top of her.

 

"Get in a Tardis...quick!!!" Doctor shouts as she tries to keep the door open and as soon as everyone is safe inside, she grabs the controls to get them out of there as quickly as possible

 

They open a scroll on a table to look at more closely

 

"So, the secret of the Time will be revealed.... How will they be revealed...And what's in that maze? What are we looking for? A map, a person, a key...Aaaarh...Too many questions, not enough answers.... very little time" Doctor is getting closer to the paper and tracing her finger on it "Aaaaaa!!!...look at that...there is text underneath that text...Look Jack" she points to the middle of the text "And something else as well"

 

"It looks like a symbol to me" Yaz says looking over Jack's shoulder "Look right there...that line" she points

 

"I think you're right Yaz...well spotted" she hovers with a sonic over the writing "there you are" she smiles when the symbol shines green on a paper as she's hovering with a sonic

 

"It's a code...this is not ink...This paper isn't even a paper...It's an embedded code that opens something...something that is in those tunnels. I'll have Tardis scan this and work out what it means"

 

Tardis comes up with nothing

 

"That's odd...how is this possible?" she's looking at the monitor baffled "You don't recognize the language? But you always recognize language...Are you messing me around?"

 

"Who is she speaking to?" Yaz turns to Jack confused but laughing, she finds Doctor amazing and intriguing person in a same time 

 

"Tardis...they talk" he answers as if it's the most normal thing in the universe

 

"Well, we'll just have to figure it out when we get there"

 

"You mean you have no plan?" Jack concluded disappointed

 

"I always have a plan"

 

"So, what's your plan then"

 

"I will have it by the time we get there" she brushes him off walking away

 

They get out of Tardis in the middle of a dark maze. Only a few torches on the walls light up the way...air is heavy and it's difficult to breathe. It smells of damp and mold. Doctor pulls her sonic and scans around.

 

"I'm picking up a strange signal from that direction...Uh that's strange" she looks at the sonic..."It keeps repeating like it's sending a warning you know...like Morse code signal...very strange...Let's go"

 

She pulls a yarn out of her pocket and ties it to the Tardis doors

 

"You're kidding me, that's your plan...we're following a rope" Jack is just amazed by the childishness of her plan

 

"Oi, it's a maze...we don't want to get lost now do we?"

 

She keeps scanning for the signal as they walk through the hallways until Jack points at the wall

 

"There, look" he points to what looks like a very old door almost unnoticeable on the wall if it wasn't for the symbol in form of a lock 

 

"That's the same as the one on that paper" she points out pulling the paper out her pocket "Look...It looks like a lock" she uses a sonic trying to open it but can't she's fiddling with it for a while whilst Jack is looking at the paper and Yaz trying to find edges of the entrance teasing her hand on the wall

 

"Can you feel that draft?" Jack looks at the Doctor whilst bending over

 

"No, what draft?" she looks at him confused

 

They tur around slowly and there is massive 8 feet tall man with head of a bull staring right at them. His breath hits their faces

 

"Ruuunnn!!!" Doctor shouts

 

They are running through the maze chased by this thing

 

"Did you know about this?" Jack is yelling at the Doctor whilst running

 

Suddenly the bull grabs Jack by his jacket and slingshots him across the hallway.

 

"Jack!!!" Doctor yells

 

She stops and steps in front of Yaz shielding her with her hand

 

"Calm down...we don't want to harm you. There's no reason for you to hurt my friends"

 

But the beast doesn't care about what Doctor has to say, it just launches for them both. Yaz manages to slip through and get behind it whilst the Doctor is trying to dodge his attack by mostly bending down and moving away. Yaz picks up quite a big rock and hits the beast on the back of its head with it. But it does nothing. It turns around and picks up Yaz by the neck lifting her off the ground. She's trying to fight him but he's too strong

 

"Yaz!!" Doctor yells in complete horror trying took around for something to stop him

 

The beast suddenly stops and just falls on a floor releasing Yaz in a same time. Dan is standing right behind it with the teaser.

 

Doctor runs to Yaz and lifts her from the floor "Are you ok? Can you breathe? Let me look at that" she's looking at scratches on her neck

 

"I'm fine, thank you. I'll be ok" she says calmly

 

"Don't do that again. He could have killed you" her voice is still shaking from fear

 

“Jack!!! Are you ok?” Doctor yells concerned looking for him in a dark 

 

He emerges from the bottom of the hallway blood gashing from a wound on his head

"That was a nice blow! Is everyone ok?" he looks at the beast on a floor and everyone around, holding his head in pain “Who took him down?”

 

"Doctor, thank god you found me!" Dan says it so happy as if he’s been rescued from jail after 3 months

 

"Dan!? What are you doing here?"

 

"I don't know Doctor. Went to sleep on Tardis and woke up home. Then one minute I was home and the next minute I was here. I've been wandering around this hallway for at least an hour. Where are we anyway? What is this place?"

 

Jack are you alright?" Doctor walks up to him trying to look at his wound “That looks nasty, we will sort it out as soon as we come back to the Tardis”

 

"I'll be fine. Takes a lot more then Minotaur to get rid of me" he kisses her head smiling softly. He likes when Doctor makes a fuss over him, so much so he is tempted to go with it and play sick just so she can look after him

 

"Yaz!!!!…Dan where's Yaz?" Doctor looks at Dan

 

"Behind you" he's pointing at the young woman totally confused

 

"Not that Yaz…. other Yaz '' she waved her hand in dismissal... "Oh, never mind. No time to explain now. Let's get back to that door before he wakes up and someone else gets hurt" she steps over the beast and starts walking fast in front of everyone. “Come on, we need to be fast… no time to waste, it will keep him out for about an hour but no longer”

 

Dan catches up with a young woman not understanding what is going on "Yaz, what is she talking about? Do you understand what she's talking about?"

 

"Don't ask me I just got here two days ago" she looks at him shortly and picks up the pace

 

Jack pulled him by the sleeve to slow him down from the rest of them and puts his arm around his shoulder as they walk

 

"That's not Yaz Dan... It’s her copy from another dimension.... Long story" he whispers to his ear controlling himself from bursting out laughing

 

"What?? But?" he points at the young woman walking in front of them, question marks flying around his head

 

"Yap...I know...She'll explain later. Just go with it" Jack taps him on a shoulder and speeds up

 

Back at the door in the wall Doctor and Yaz are trying to figure out how to open it. When Yaz suddenly turns to the Doctor and looks at her with her big brown eyes

 

"The woman you're looking for...is she someone special to you?"

 

The doctor gets caught up for a moment. This question just hits her like a ton of bricks, but she manages to pull herself together to give her some sort of an answer.

​

"She is...She's very special, and I need to find her before I run out time" she's still fiddling with the symbols and avoiding any eye contact that could possibly make this situation even more awkward than it already is.  

​

"Aaa, look ...on the door they are placed in a different order than on this sketch...If I just...maybe...I wonder If that would work" she presses the paper onto a lock, and it lights up turning the locks in the wall like unlocking the bolt "Yes!!!!.... See, it was embedded code...I just couldn't figure out how it works. It still bothers me how did that get to that library and why is it on the paper, hmm?

​

Doctor turns to her and smiles like she would always do when she gets excited and wants to share it with Yaz “Should we open it?”

​

“Of course…This is exiting…Much better than my everyday job I tell you!!” the woman looks at her with big smile stretching on her face and eyes glistening in a light from the touches on the walls

​

They push hard but door is not moving

​

“We could use some manpower here!!!” the young woman makes a sarcastic comment whilst pushing the door as hard as she can with the Doctor

​

"Dan, Jack …we need some help here please!!" Doctor calls the guys who are just casually standing and chatting on the other side of the hallway “Its stuck…it will not budge, even an inch”

​

“Got used to a much more muscle power, did you?” Jack subtly pokes at the Doctor

​

“Well, I will just make sure I demonstrate it in my next regeneration…Shall I?” she smirks at his face

 

With everyone's help they managed to open it, and the whole world opened before their eyes. A spaceship from another time... Doctor points the sonic in the air to turn on all the machines, and the lights illuminate the space in which they are, uncovering the aircraft's monitors and control panel. Unusual symbols adorn the walls, Doctor is running her fingers over them as if they were familiar to her from somewhere. A flash of the past passes through her mind... a moment she cannot explain or fully remember... the same symbols... but how can she remember them? She approaches the dashboard and tries to figure out how to read the ship's log.

 

"OMG...it's a spaceship Doctor" Dan is amazed looking around

 

"Don't touch anything Dan... any of you...we don't know anything about it, where it's from or whose it is. I have never seen this kind of ship before. What about you Jack?" her eyes are wondering around the room trying to remember any little detail that could help her to figure this place out

 

"No…definitely not from anywhere I've been...and that writing...I've never seen it before" he is glancing around the room amazed at the symbols he has never seen before. Like Doctor, there isn't much out there that Jack hasn't seen but this place is tickling his imagination

 

"And where's the crew? It's empty...what happened to them?" Doctor shrugs her shoulders 

 

She approaches the control panel and suddenly she releases something strange...she tills her head head suspiciously 

 

"Why this reminds me off...But it can't be...or it could be...but that would be impossible...Well not really...everything is possible...except for the wooden stove...You really can't have a wooden stove" she presses few buttons, and the ship comes alive

 

"What did you just do, Doctor?" Dan turns around a bit scared looking around the ship waiting for something to go badly wrong, because with the Doctor it always does

 

"It's like Tardis...it looks different, so I didn't recognize it at first, but the principle is the same. Except this isn't Tardis...Where did you come from...Now let's see what secrets you can tell me"

 

She starts fiddling with controls more guessing than knowing for sure, just hoping for the best as usual. The recording pops up on the monitor 

"Aaaaa!!!... there we go...Now, that's better" she jumps exited 

​

It's a man on the recording, and he is explaining something in a language Doctor cannot understand

 

"Doctooor!!!!!" Yaz screams from the other side of the ship                                                                                                                                             

"I'm sorry you said not to press anything, but I just leant on this, and it opened...and is he dead???" She's pointing at what looks like a cryo chamber or drop pod with a man inside it

 

Doctor rushes to her side  "Don't touch anything!!" she scans the pod with a sonic "I'm afraid he is...he's been here a long time. Pod is keeping body preserved but he is long gone. I'm sorry...This ship has been here for a long time. Could be thousands of years by the look of it...they must have built this whole place around it, thinking it's some sort of a holly place" 

 

Doctor returns to the control panel trying to rip the top of the dashboard off "If this thing works like Tardis, I should be able to get their last coordinates out of it. It should give us more answers"

 

"Doctor, how will you be able to read it? We don't even understand what this bloke is saying" Dan points at the monitor and shrugs

 

"I'm not Dan... I have another plan"

 

"Do I even want to know?" Jack says sarcastically rolling his eyes

 

"Oi! Don't you trust me?" deep down she knows he does, but she enjoys the little banters they have together

 

"Doctor!" Yaz calls from the other room "What's that in his hand?" she points at object in the man’s hand

 

She walks over to her to have a look "I don't know...Well spotted Yaz" she sonics the pod to open it but as soon as she did, man's body turned to dust in seconds right in front of them "Ups...Well I must admit I didn't expect this to happen...Sorry" Doctor scrunches up her face looking almost embarrassed 

 

She picks up what looks like a medallion, and as soon as she put it in her pocket the ground starts shaking so hard it almost knocks them on the floor. The ship starts cracking. Doctor turns her eyes towards the walls of the ship releasing they are breaking like glass.

 

She shouts from the top of her voice "Quick!!! We need to get out of here now! Everyone, run!! We need to get to the Tardis. This whole place is going to collapse on us" she grabs Yaz's hand and pulls her really hard

 

At the very entrance of the ship Doctor turned around and runs back inside

 

"Dooootor! Noooo!" Yaz screams as she let her hand go

 

"Go to the Tardis...I forgot something" she runs back to the control panel of the ship

 

What are you doing Doctor? Dan turns to Jack panicking and signaling they need to get her out “What is she doing? We need to get her out”

 

Doctor pulls a piece of the control panel ripping it off with one swift move slinging it across the room and shoves her arm deep in the hole of the controls whilst the whole thing looks like it will drop on top of her head

 

Jack gets seriously worried by this point knowing the whole thing is seconds from collapsing and runs back inside, grabs her sleeve trying to pull her out, sparks are flying from the controls and monitors smashing around them on the floor "Stop!!!!…We need to go now unless you want to regenerate forever buried underground"

 

"I need this...I almost got it" she pulls her arm out "Got it!!!"

 

Jack janks her by her waist practically throwing her out of the ship before the whole thing collapsed behind them

​

Chapter 4

 

​

​

Back in a Tardis, Doctor connects a piece she took off the ship to the Tardis trying to get more information out of it.

 

"Well, that will take some time...So if you're tired go to bed and we will continue tomorrow...We won't resolve this today. But you all did a great job today my crew" she smiles but her face shows exhaustion

​

"I think you should lie down as well, Doctor. You look tired" Yaz tells her seemingly worried about her

​

"I will Yaz...but I need to resolve this...we are running out of time" she releases a deep sigh

​

"Just worried about you, that's all Doctor. Good night" the young woman turns around and walks away 

 

Dan is about to go to bed when she stops him "Dan... It’s nice to have you back...I really missed you" Doctor's face goes soft. She feels relieved she's got at least him back home 

 

"I really missed you too...At some point I thought this was going to be a rerun of Flux to be honest. What about Yaz Doctor? Where is she?"

 

"I don't know yet Dan... I’m working on it...We will find her I promise. Go to bed you need rest"

​

“Alright Doctor…that goes for you too…we need your brains…and they need rest as well”

​

Doctor is left by herself in the control room. But as soon as everyone leaves, she sits on the steps, her mind wanders off. She pulls a necklace out of her pocket. The one Yaz used to wear with a little bow tie. She found it on a side cabinet in Yaze's room the day she disappeared and kept it in a pocket since. Footsteps distracted her thoughts.

​

"I'm sorry am I disturbing you? I didn't mean to.” the young woman apologies feeling embarrassed for intrusion “I’m tiered but my brain can’t relax, I don’t know if I will be able to sleep at all"

 

"No, not at all...Don't worry. Come sit next to me.” Doctor points to the steps next her “I wanted to thank you anyway...you were very brave today.... considering everything that's happened"

 

Doctor smiles but looking at her plays tricks with her brains again. It's how Yaz used to come late at night to the control room holding a cup of hot chocolate and keeping her company until she was so tired like a little child, and she literally had to tell her to go to bed or she would fall asleep on top of the controls. Looking at her is hard so turns her gaze at the Tardis floor instead 

 

"Where do you come from, Doctor?" she looks at her, but Doctor is looking at the floor, so she feels for moment she overstepped the line until Doctor replied 

 

"I come from a planet called Gallifrey"

 

"What does that mean, that you're not a human?"

 

Doctor finally summons courage to look at her "No I'm not"

 

"And the woman you're looking for, who is she?"

 

She's finding these questions overwhelming but she knows it's only fair to answer them “Someone very important to me" Doctor looks at the floor, her hearts are breaking as those words leave her mouth

 

"You keep saying that all the time but how is she connected to me? Is she me...from your time? Please be honest with me?"

 

She's taken back by her statement and didn't see that one coming at all.

"What makes you say that?" 

 

"I've seen the way you look at me...and things you know about me. It's like you've known me. And yet I don't know you. You thought I was her the day I met you. You looked so lost when I didn't recognize you. Dan came up to me as if he knows me as well, and his reaction down in that maze… And all that's happening for the past days, all the time disrupted. It's the only way I can explain it. It’s the only way it makes sense to me"

 

"Well, I must say.... you're a very smart young woman." Doctor nudges her with her shoulder and smiles

 

“So, is she lost…like Dan was? She could be in any time any place then?” young woman makes a scary conclusion

 

“Yes…” doctors gaze goes around the Tardis as if making a plead with Tardis “and I will do anything to find her…I will not stop till I do”

 

"Well, I think she's a very lucky woman to have someone like you. You must love her very much to do all of this to bring her back. You could have died today"

 

"No... I’m lucky to have her" her eyes keep wandering around Tardis as she's saying those words

 

"So, what happens now? Where do we go from here?"

 

"We will see where the ship was heading or where it came from...we go from there...And hopefully we get more answers to fix time, get my Yaz…close dimensions and get you home soon to your wife."

 

"Do you ever get scared? All of this. It's just so overwhelming and... well unbelievable. I still feel like it's a dream…all of this…this ship any. You…I mean come on you’re a fricking alien"  

 

Doctor chuckles at that statement "Yes I am alien…crazy ha? We all get scared. But it gets less scary with time" she smiles softly 

 

"I'm off to bed now Doctor. Thank you for talking to me" the events of past two days are catching up with her, she can no longer keep her eyes open

 

"Any time. Have sweet dreams" Doctor smiles

 

She starts walking up the steps and then turns around "I hope you find her"

 

"Me too" Doctors eyes fill with sadness

 

She came back to the console trying to keep herself busy. She scans for Yaz one more time…she does this at least 10 times every day…hoping. But still no sign of her anywhere. Her mind wanders off to all those insignificant little moments that now seem so big and important. The smell of Yaz's hair passing behind her, that smell of freshly cut grass that would linger in the air around her, the feeling of their fingers intertwining whenever they held hands, the warmth and softness of her skin, her smile that felt like the safest place in the universe. She even missed those endless questions that sometimes distracted her, what would she give to hear at least one of those now. She’s wondering if she’s scared wherever she is, alone and lost without hope of ever being found. She wonders if she keeps looking at that hologram, she gave her trying to find her. If she is even alive…dread and doubt start going through her. Doctor closes her eyes and breaks down completely tears running down her face. She smacks the console with her fist and takes a deep breath trying hard to pull herself together.

 

"Are you ok?" Dan's voice interrupted her thoughts

 

She quickly rubbed her tears with the sleeve of her jacket and refused to turn around. Her eyes focused on the console.

 

"Of course, I am... Why wouldn't I be?"

 

"I've heard this before you know, and she was far from ok. I know you're in pain and that's ok, it's not easy. But you're a smart woman and you will find her. We all will, you're not alone" Dan comes behind her puts his hand on her shoulder comfortingly

 

"Thank you, Dan," she replies quietly

 

As Dan turns around ready to leave, Tardis sounds off. Doctor quickly starts running around the console reading information that came from an abandoned ship. Her face dropped and went white

 

"Doctor, what's going on?" Dan became intensely worried by the minute

 

"This makes no sense Dan... This isn't possible" she is concentrating on reading more talking to herself then Dan

 

"What's not possible, you're losing me here Doctor"

 

“I connected the part from the ship we found to the Tardis so I can extract information about where it came from…and when it came from…also hopping to see where it was going because I don’t think it was heading towards Earth. Much of the information is corrupted but Tardis managed to extract most of it. Ship is not from this dimension Dan it comes from the parallel one to ours…. But how is this possible? Dimensions are sealed off… one cannot travel between them…. unless…nooo it can’t be??.... Or can it?” she’s reading information muttering in her chin

 

“You’re losing me here Doctor, what are you saying?”

 

“Unless Dan this happened before…it must have done…and they just got stuck on Earth couldn’t go back…that’s it Dan. What is happening now must have happened before…to be exact ten thousand years ago in the past that’s how long the ship is on Earth. They got stuck like those dinos in France.”

 

“Dinos in France??”

 

“Long story Dan…But that still doesn’t explain how that code for the lock ended up in that library or why the message said they are connected or somehow caused that event…aaaaahhh nothing makes sense. Unless…we go where they came from…I will try to get the exact coordinates to where they arrived from”

 

“And we find out directly from their people!”

 

“Exactly Dan. Maybe they caused it somehow or they where here to prevent it. What’s really bugging me Dan is that ship was Tardis…only Time Lords have Tardises. What would a Time Lord from a parallel dimension do here in the middle of a cataclysmic event?”

​

"So, what's your plan then?"

 

"The only way to get more information is to go where they came from"

​

"Isn't this same as flux Doctor?"

​

No...well yes in a way but not really....hard to explain Dan. Flux caused alternative time lines. This ship is from parallel dimension"

​

"Can we get stuck there? I mean they got stuck at Earth, who’s to say we won’t get stuck wherever they come from"

 

"No, we shouldn't...well maybe...probably not..." she says it half reassuring even herself

 

"Ok well that's really reassuring then. Look either way I know you’re going with or without us aren’t you?

​

“Oh yes!!” Doctor turns around grinning

 

 

As soon as everyone was up and in the control room Doctor decides to brief them of her plan 

​

"So... you know that ship we found?... Well, I don't know where it was heading but I do know where it came from and... if we want to get to some answers were going to have to make a little jump" she scrunches her face knowing the next question from everyone

​

Jack instinctively knows this is a mad plan as soon as he sees her face "How little? 

​

"Ten thousand years into the past where the ship came from" she shoots out the answer already prepared to defend her decision

​

Yaz`s face goes white "Whaaat?? ...Looking for what exactly, beginning of life on a planet?"

​

"But we also need to make a little detour as well" she paces around nervously already flipping the switches

​

"What kind of a detour...where exactly are we going Doctor?" Jack is pushing her to spill it out

​

"Into parallel dimension where their planet is from…they don't just come from the past they came from a dimension parallel to ours...during the event similar or the same as what is happening now... technically we can`t travel to a parallel dimension but maybe like they did, now we can... I did all the calculations, and we should be fine" 

​

“Am I the only one who is confused here?”  Yaz turns around looking at everyone

​

Everyone's faces suddenly had blank expression

​

Jack turns to her in disbelief "Oh she is the only one confused here believe me…Parallel dimension!!!!!!! Are you for real?" he comes in front of her "You are joking?... Please tell me this is a joke" 

​

Doctor gets all defensive and turns around flipping the switches and setting up coordinates “I have no choice Jack...unless you have some other suggestion, I'm open for discussion”

​

Jack keeps following her around as usual trying to get some sense into her

​

"Since when have you traveled through parallel dimensions like this? Its not possible for a long time you know that. There's chaos out there what if we get stuck?"

 

"During flux...Well it was similar but not same...that was more of a alternate timeline...Seriously Jack you worry too much.." she’s ignoring him and walks around him continuing to set coordinates

​

"Tardis is not designed for that. We will all die. That ship crushed down, and they all died…And we will be next if you do this. Now you know I support you in everything no matter how crazy it is, but this is a suicide mission”

​

Doctor turns around, she’s boiling inside, her face turns to stone, and she goes right into Jacks face “There's dinos running around France!!! Middle age army is marching down London!!! Volcano destroying Greece, and I wouldn’t be surprised if there’s cave men in Washington!!! Yaz is lost and I have no idea how to fix any of it Jack …I’m sort of doing the best I can here!!” she turns around to everyone “So…anyone wants to get of the Tardis, now is your chance because I’m going even if it means going alone and when I pull that lever there is no going back”

​

“I’m staying...I trust you" young woman decides first 

​

Dan looks at the Doctor quite hopeful she knows her stuff “Well, I don’t feel like dying today but we all have families down there and we need to find Yaz so hey, just another day at work…Right Doctor?”

​

Doctor turns to Jack still angry at him waiting for his reply anxiously

 

“I’m always with you, so you know what my answer is. But I still think you’re mad. So, let’s hope we can pull this off”

​

"Well Jack we're about to find out...Hold on everyone!!!" she takes one deep breath closes her eyes and pulls the lever.  

​

Chapter 5

 

​

 

As soon as the Doctor pulled that lever Tardis started shaking like never before and sparks started flying from the console. It was never a smooth ride in Tardis, but this was on another level of uncomfortable. It felt like Tardis will fall apart but it suddenly went quiet and calm. The Doctor stood for a moment looking around, even she wasn't sure if they got to their destination safely or got lost on a way. But she would never show how worried she was to anybody on board the ship, so she forced a smile on her face like she's entering the theater stage.   

​

"See...always knew I could trust Tardis to get us here safely...that wasn't so bad, was it?

 

Doctor is still smiling but nobody seems impressed...

 

"Alright gang... I don't know what to expect so please do not wander off and do not touch anything...and Dan do not bring aliens on board the Tardis this time no matter how cute they might be"

 

Yaz was trying to sort her hair out "Well at least we're alive...for now. Doctor, have you considered that they might want to kill us or something? I mean we don't even know who they are" she's still tucking her top inside her trousers whilst trying to get some reassurance from the Doctor that she knows what she's doing

 

"Oh, we'll be fine, don't worry...most aliens are fine...not many violent ones out there. Besides it seems like they were trying to help...and if they are Time Lords...well...they are one of me!!" she shrugs her shoulders and continues to the door "Shall we?"

 

As she opened the door a hot air hit everyone's faces...it was the kind of heat that felt like it's instantly going to burn your skin off. Air smelled of ocean air but there was no ocean in site, just reddish-colored sand dunes as far as their eyes could reach. Doctor took the sonic out and started scanning around.

 

"Seems safe ...but I'm not picking up much else around" she's squinting her eyes and shielding them with her hand from the sun, trying to focus around to possibly see something, but all she could see is sand

 

They continued to walk following her for about half hour, but the strong sun and heat is making them all lose strength. Except for the Doctor who seemed like she's not affected by any of it and full of energy bouncing around as always 

 

Yaz is dragging her feet trying her hardest to keep up "Doctor do you even know where we're heading? We need water, I really think we should go back to Tardis"

 

"We have arrived at the unknown planet in the unknown universe and unknown parallel dimension and it's...dead" Dan moans disappointed “Doctor there's nothing here...I think we should go"

 

Doctor is walking around waving her sonic in front of her in every direction "You know Dan you should have learned by now that things may not look as they seem every time" she stops at one spot and turns around

 

"What do you mean by that?" Jack is squinting at her hoping she did find something, because the chances are that if there's trouble Doctor doesn't need to look, it will find her, and at this point he's prepared to take anything just get away from the desert

 

Doctor smiles cheeky, turns around and waives her sonic. “Look at that gang!!”

Air starts to wobble revealing what looked almost as a ghostly apparition of a massive city behind a glass looking bubble.

 

"Cloaking technology" Jack's face lit up in a big smile "You genius…how did you know?"

 

"Ever doubted me, Jack?” she grins “Tardis was picking up life forms in this place...I knew they must be here somewhere...Perfect protection...beautiful technology"

 

"How do we get in?" Yaz looking confused at the Doctor "They are out there and we're still here...and there's no doors?"

 

"We don't need it Yaz"

 

Doctor takes the medallion out of her pocket. The same medallion they found on an abandoned ship in Greece. She presses it on a barrier and the moment she does, the passage opens in front of her

 

"Let's go!" she signals with her hand. 

 

They walk through, not quite believing that just a moment ago they were being scorched by the unforgiving heat.

 

The city was massive, stretching for miles. Built out of white stone with loads of smaller houses and curvy stone paved streets. The whole city was overshadowed by one massive structure that resembled a Greek temple. The round building was supported by tall pillars holding a huge dome beautifully painted with the same symbols they have seen on the abandoned ship and scenes depicting the ocean floor and creatures of the deep. Blue roofs on the houses gave illusion of ocean waves. The scene left all of them speechless, but soon enough, before they even moved from the spot where they've entered the city a hovering blue orb appeared in front of them addressing them quite firmly.

 

"You are not authorized to be here. Please identify yourselves"

 

"Aaa!!! Seen those before!!!" Doctor gets all existed almost jumping from the ground explaining about the orbs to everyone, but they don't seem to be impressed, it doesn't stop her from continuing

 

"I love those orbs...they can also hold a lot of information...even store the whole historical documentation.... fascinating things" she finally turns back towards the orb

 

"Oh sorry...I'm the Doctor, this is Yaz, Dan and Jack. I'm so sorry I didn't mean to.... we are not hostile...just looking for some answers. Can you take us to your supervisor or someone we can talk to? We need some really important information we came a long way"

 

"Follow me please" the orb responded swiftly and started leading them down the streets of the city.

 

Doctor gets close to everyone and whispers "We don't know anything about this place so stick together...we need to find out about that ship and hopefully they will have some information about what's going on Earth...if not well...we will improvise"

 

"What if they just lock us up for trespassing Doctor?" Yaz askes a bit skittish and unsure of the place. She trusts Doctor by now but not anyone in this place

 

"Don't worry Yaz...they would have done it by now...it will be ok"

 

Doctor automatically grabs hold of her hand as an insurance, something she used to do so many times before to her Yaz.

 

The young woman doesn't object, she does find it comforting in some way. After all Doctor is alien herself and they are on an alien planet so that is insurance itself

 

Dan leans towards the Doctor trying not to be suspicious whispering in her ear "Look there” he points at the dome structure and the writing carved into them “Does that seem familiar to you?"

 

Doctor looks up and her face lights up with a smile "Same as on that ship...Well we are definitely on the right place Dan"

 

They walked for quite a while following the orb and it reminded Dan at one those organized sightseeing tours following the guide. People on the streets seemed no different than humans just dressed like they stepped from ancient Rome or Greece. Women have stunning braided hair and dresses in bright colors, adorned with beading on the edges. Little kids playing on a street and chasing each other, men dressed mostly in earth color tunics and trousers are selling produce on the stands. It looked like those people are living peaceful lives on this desert planet, protected from the rest of the universe in their own little bubble.

They finally arrived at the dome structure on top of the hill after climbing hundreds of stone stairs leading to the top. Following the orb, they got to the great hall magnificently painted with stories, obviously depicting history of this race. The whole place left everyone breathless. There was a sense of peace and calmness all around. And still the smell of the ocean in the air that none of them could explain.

 

"Please wait here" the orb asked of them politely and flew away down the long hallway before disappearing around the corner at the very bottom

 

Jack approached the Doctor and leaned closer to her ear “What do you make of this place Doctor? Something smells here. It’s too perfect…way to perfect. And why are they concealed from the rest of the world?"

 

"To the point Jack…why would they hide from the rest of the universe under a dome on a deserted planet…are they hiding themselves or they are hiding something…something is definitely not right here…and weeeee are going to get to the bottom of it Jack. And ocean? What’s with the ocean” she turns to the others “Am I the only one who smells ocean”

 

"I can smell it too" Dan confirms

 

"Me too...but maybe it's just far away Doctor and we can't see it?" Yaz says trying to make a logical conclusion but deep down she knows there's no logical explanation that the whole ocean could be under a dome someone artificially made

 

Their discussion is interrupted by a lady walking towards them. She had a presence about her. Deep blue eyes and black hair reaching almost to her waist. Blue almost transparent layered dress embroidered with leaves and flowers hugging her body draping down to the floor. As soon as she walked into the room the Doctor felt sharp pain in her head and a flood of incoherent memories again going through her head. She closed her eyes for a moment from the pain desperately trying to hide it.

 

"Are you ok Doctor?" Yaz whispers to her concerned because she can clearly see Doctor is struggling to concentrate

 

"I'm fine...I'm fine...nothing to worry about...just a head wobble...well a big wobble...I'll be fine" she braced herself up again

 

"Welcome to Dari" the young woman places both of her hands on her chest as a sign of welcoming "My name is Abzu I am the member of the high council. I was told you are here to see me?"

 

The woman speaks politely and with calmness in her voice

 

Doctor repeats her gesture placing her own hands on her hearts "Thank you Abzu. I'm the Doctor, this is Yaz, Dan and Jack. I am sorry we just came here unannounced, but we need some answers to some very important questions. Something very big and very dangerous is happening to our world and we need to find out what and more importantly how to stop it... we think you may know the answers"

 

"I can see that...you have come a long way. They are human" the woman points at Yaz and Dan "But you..." she stops and waves her hand over Doctors chest revealing her two hearts glowing like on a display.

 

"Oi!!...Do you mind!!!" Doctor says defensively, stepping back a bit, feeling invaded

 

Dan leans over to Yas and murmurs in her ear “And yet she’s the first one to sonics everyone” they both chuckle

 

“I heard that Dan” Doctor looks at them unimpressed

 

"Just a percussion I assure you” the woman opens her hand showing a round, disc shaped object in a palm of her hand connected with rings on her fingers

 

"May I ask why you have this dome in the middle of a deserted planet? "

 

"It's just terra forming. The environment outside is unforgiving and it would be impossible for us to survive" she quickly changes the subject "So Doctor you wanted to speak with me about something?"

 

"Yes...what is your ship doing on Earth? More so, how did it get there? …. Because I’m having a strange feeling that Earth wasn’t its destination? Where was it going? But you already know we are here about the ship, don't you?"

 

"I don't understand what you mean?" the woman becomes uncomfortable with Doctors set of questions

 

"You didn't ask us how we found you ...since you're hiding and cloaking yourselves here technically it is impossible to see you...you didn't ask how we got into the city either.... because you already know, don't you?"

 

"You have something of mine, and I need it back" the woman finally admits

 

"What are you hiding? You knew all this time we were coming...You also knew we are coming from the future…You knew we found the ship and you know what's happening to our world in the future...Are you behind the dimensions crushing? How are you doing that? ...Why are you doing that? I need to know how to stop it, or millions of lives will be lost. " Doctor continues to be persistent with her questions

 

"We are not causing it...we are not behind this. And I am not your enemy, we are on the same side, Doctor. What you have in your pocket is far more important than you can possibly imagine, and my people waited a long time to get it back. Please we can help each other. I simply did not know what your intentions where"

 

The woman sounds seemingly genuine. Doctor still couches but deep down she knows whatever the outcome she needs information. So, she pulls the medallion out of her pocket and hands it over.

 

"Thank you...thank you so much" the woman takes it as if the thing is the most precious thing in the universe and hangs it around her neck

 

"Please be my guests. There is plenty of time to talk later. You must be tired and hungry" she presses the gadget on her palm and the little orb comes flying from around the corner immediately "he will escort you to your rooms and please join us for supper this evening. It is at least I can do"

 

Doctor turns to her gang who are passing out from heat and hunger by this point and even though she's feeling fine herself, she cannot deny them rest and food after everything.

 

"Pleaseeee Doctor" Yaz is beginning her, her face shining from heat she looks totally exhausted

 

Others are nodding their heads as well desperate to have some food and rest

 

Doctor smiles "Alright then...I suppose we can stay...Hopefully universe won't end in a meantime"

 

"Thank god" Dan release deep sigh of relief

 

They got settled into their rooms where food and drink were already waiting for them. And before they had any chance to relax, the Doctor started knocking on everyone's doors. Grumpy, tired but at least fed and watered they all met her in a hallway.

 

"Don't you ever eat, or sleep or relax Doctor?" Dan continues whining

 

"I do...I had some crackers, and they were delicious, and I had half hour sleep as well"

 

"I give up!" Dan rolls his eyes

 

"Why did you get us all here Doctor? Is everything ok?" Yaz is wondering what could possibly go wrong in 45 min but with a Doctor you never know. She's only with this lot for a short time but she already knows a drill

 

"Oh, nothing wrong...nothing at all...I just thought since we're here now, we might as well look around...Besides I was so bored at my room" she shrugs her shoulders

 

Jack leans to everyone and whispers "I think we should snoop around a bit, maybe speak to some locals out on the streets. You'd be surprised what you can find out on a marketplace"

 

"I think that's a great idea Jack...I love marketplaces...maybe they have a gift shop?" Doctor gets all existed at the thought of shopping

 

They get down to the streets. Dan is eating crackers he stuffed in his pockets and Yaz got stuck at the jewelry stand. But her face dropped when she realized she had no money to buy anything.

 

"Anything you like?" Doctor leans over her shoulder smiling

 

"No money even if I did" she makes a sad face looking at a small bracelet in her hand

 

"How much is that bracelet?" Doctor addresses the merchant

 

Yaz looks at the Doctor surprised at her gesture

 

"10 guen miss" merchant replies

 

"Well, we're not from here...do you care to trade?" Doctor continues

 

"Depends on what you have?"

 

"Give me a minute"

 

She starts digging through her pockets taking loads of trinkets out and emptying them on a table whilst a young woman is looking at her completely baffled as to what she's doing

 

"Doctor...what on earth are you doing?"

 

"I'm sure it's there...just a second...aaaaa here it is!" she takes out a rubber duck and gives it to the merchant "Squeeze it!"

 

Merchant squeezed a little toy and sound makes him smile

 

"See fascinating, isn't it? It also floats in a water!" she's bouncing content she managed to impress him

 

"I think my daughter would love this...Well madam you got yourself a deal" merchant doesn't even get his eyes of the rubber duck just kept squeezing it and smiling

 

"Doctor?? Why did you do that?"

 

"You do like it don't you?" Doctor gets one of her socially awkward moments of complete confusion

 

"Yes, I love it. Thank you" the woman unexpectedly hugs her, but Doctor just stands stiff like a pole surprised and not knowing how to react

 

"Here... put it on my wrist please" she hands her the bracelet "When I go back home it will be my memory of the time spent with you Doctor!" she smiles at her, but Doctor gets flustered not knowing how to handle the situation she got herself into, so she just smiles back at her whilst putting the bracelet on her wrist

 

"Right...well let's go then shall we...no time to waste" she changes the subject and moves on

 

"Where's Jack?" Doctor is turning around trying to find him and she spots him in a crowd

 

"Jack!!! What are you doing? Let's go" she yells across the market but Jack signals her to join him

 

"We need to go, Jack...what's going on?"

 

Jack turns to a small guy standing next to him "Tell her what you just told me"

 

"There are naked ladies dancing tonight around the corner from here and I can get you in for 29 guen each"

 

Doctor’s eyes open wide "Whaaat?"

 

Jack smacks a guy on a shoulder "Noooot that...the other stuff you told me before"

 

"Oh thaaaaaat...sorry mate" the guy looks at Jack apologetic

 

Jack glances at the Doctor and meets her unimpressed face "Whaaat? Just making friends that's all"

 

She rolls her eyes at him and turns to the guy "What is it that you wanted to tell me?"

 

"I have some stuff if you're interested...really good price"

 

Jack rolls his eyes "No not that...what you told me about the dome for god’s sake...the dome"

 

"Oh that...yes sorry...well I told your friend that if he wants to buy stuff, he needs to do it now in next few days before we move"

 

Doctor makes a face "Move? What do you mean move? ...Move where exactly?"

 

"He was surprised as well...You are new around here aren't you. We are moving to another planet in a few days. Apparently, a time storm is coming our way and we are no longer safe here. So, I don't suggest you travel now... not safe out there now"

 

"Did you just say time storm?"

 

"Well yes... It happens all the time recently and we are due for a big one now apparently"

 

"So, what's causing those...time storms?" Doctor continues questioning him

 

"How would I know? I'm just a businessman. The masters know all that stuff. Look if you will not buy anything I need to go now" the man is picking up his stuff from the floor in a hurry

 

"Wait...we need more answers" Doctor persists

 

"Sorry...I have to go now...Have a nice time" he turns to Jack "and if you still want those tickets for tonight, I will be here later on in the evening. Bye" he runs off into the crowd

 

"Shoot...I wish we got more out of him. Well that means we only have short time to find solution before this whole place get relocated and we are left stranded here without Tardis" Doctor moans in her chin

 

"But how can they move this place, Doctor? It's not like you can just pick up the whole city and relocate it to another planet?" Dan asks confused

 

"You can Dan... if the whole city is inside of the ship"

 

"Whaaaat?" Yaz's eyes open wide "Are you saying we are inside of the ship? Like this whole place and all the people in it and all the houses?"

 

"Ooooh yes...Dimensional engineering Yaz...How did I not think of that...it is a perfect Chameleon Circuit"

 

"What's a Chameleon Circuit Doctor?" Yaz continues to ask questions trying to figure out what Doctor is going on about because she's getting more confused by the minute

 

"The Chameleon Circuit is a component of the TARDIS that allows it to change shape to match its surroundings and remain inconspicuous. See Yaz this whole place is a dimension inside of the ship so its space can be infinite. It can fit as many people as necessary...How did I not see it...of course and that way they can move wherever they want to whatever place they want and what every time they want."

 

“Doctor you are really…like really confusing me now. So, this is the ship…same as your ship but it looks different. And all these people travel with this ship around the universe and time same as us…Am I on a right track here?” Dan askes

 

“Yes, Dan exactly. And something happened here at some point…Not exactly sure what point through…something that caused a time storm. They tried stopping it by sending a ship with a crew to some unknown place…We assume Atropos…but ship got caught up in a time storm and got thrown on Earth where it stayed for ten thousand years until we found it. I tried getting a right time frame but its hard to get exact information…we could be off for 100 years give or take… maybe… possibly…. well given things we know now probably because it sounds like they are running from it for quite some time now”  

 

"Terra forming...yeah...right..." Dan mumbles

 

"Doctor what did he mean by a time storm?" Yaz askes hungry for more knowledge. She’s fascinated by the Doctor and she could listen to her a whole day explain stuff

 

"Good question Yaz...time storm is when time goes wild out of control, and it can cause things like people and things getting misplaced in time like dinos in France or those soldiers in London...it can cause timeline to be changed...events to be changed as a result...meaning previous timeline gets erased like it never existed... but this is something different...it is causing parallel dimensions to collapse"

 

"What's the difference...what exactly is a parallel dimension Doctor" Yaz continues to prompt her

 

"Like multiverse Yaz...two Earths existing in same space divided by the void in between...on one Earth you have a wife, on another Earth you're with me...on Tardis...same you, different Earth, different life different memories, different everything...but now it's like that no longer exists...there's only mixture of both...not one or another....very hard to explain Yaz, and this time storm is causing it...or someone is causing it more likely...I don't think this is a natural event"

 

"So, if this happened before, how did it go back…to normal Doctor…Earth and time and our dimension?" Dan askes

 

"Maybe it didn't Dan... One gets destroyed and replaced by another one...not impossible...not at all and we would never know" she looks into the distance getting lost in her thoughts for a moment thinking that if she doesn’t stop this, she could lose her Yaz like that, forever "Ok let's go back now...”

Chapter 6

 

 

 

Back in the main building everyone gets ready to go for a meal. Their hosts left them clothing to wear so guys are all nicely dressed up in traditional garments trousers with tunics fastened with a wide belt. Yaz comes out in a gorgeous, layered copper color gown embroidered with sand color botanical sequence on the hem of the dress and a matching sash. Ribbons are woven into her hair. She is wearing the little bracelet Doctor bought for her as well.

 

"Waaaw don't you look pretty Yazee sweetie" Jack takes her hand and swirls her around. Takes a bow and kisses her hand in the gentlest manner.

 

"Well thank you Jack." she smiles for the compliment "Where's the Doctor?"

 

"I don't know...not for her to be late?" Dan looks towards the Doctor's room "You think we should knock on a door?"

 

"We are running late"

 

Yaz gets a bit worried and decides to act. She walks towards her room and starts knocking on a door

 

"Doctor!!! Are you in there? Is everything alright?"

 

She can hear her inside complaining and moaning about something, but she can't make out about what

 

"Doctor? Is everything ok? We are running a bit late" she repeats the question

 

Doors open up and Doctor comes out with a sour face as if someone stuffed a lemon in her mouth. Dan and Jack are left completely speechless. And Jack's face cannot hide a smile from the corner of his mouth that he is desperately trying to control.

 

"What's wrong Doctor? You look beautiful " Yaz looks at her standing back a bit to get a better look

 

"A dress!!!!...I'm not wearing a dress...Why did they leave me a dress?" she's looking at herself making a whole range of sour faces ``I'm not going out there looking like this...no way!"

 

Doctor looks gorgeous in her gown, a beautiful deep blue color embroidered in a very similar way Yaz's is. With a little hair clip holding her hair behind her ear

 

"But you look stunning Doctor!" Yaz continues to convince her

 

"Well Doctor aren’t you a site for sore eyes today" Jack smiles cheeky eyeing her up and down "I really wish I had a camera now"

 

"And I wish I could just leave you in Tardis now!!!" she points her finger at him like to a child

 

He comes up to her linking his arm with hers "Come on Doctor...You do look really nice, don't fuss. Let's go"

 

"Aarrr..."she rolls her eyes..."And I'm not dancing so don't even try!" she warns Jack in advance knowing what he's like

 

“Just one dance…tinny tiny dance?”

 

“Don’t push it, Jack!” she is walking away with him stumbling along

 

“You wouldn’t say no to your Yaz” Jack goes on enjoying in teasing her

 

“Well, that’s different isn’t it”

 

“Oh, is it now? You know you really need a wife…It’s about time.”

 

“That’s enough Jack” she’s slowly getting annoyed knowing exactly where the conversation is going

 

“Just saying…life is too short even if you do get to regenerate you know” he squeezes her hand almost as a comfort or a signal that its ok to be scared

 

Doctor stays silent for that one. Deep down she knows Jack is right. He is probably the only person she knows who could ever speak to her like that. The only one she would ever allow to speak to her like that. Apart from Dan. Dan just doesn’t care how she will react or if he gets thrown out of Tardis. But she is also painfully aware that she needs to be spoken like that because the chaos in her brains need to be addressed sometimes. And sometimes, just sometimes she does need that push to take a leap.

 

Dan offers his arm to Yaz "I would be honored if you do not mind" he smiles lovingly to her

 

She accepts his arm smiling "Not at all Dan"

 

Dinner went well. The hall was filled with loads of people chatting to each other and laughing. The Tardis team kept mostly to themselves. Doctor fiddled with her dress the entire time making all sorts of faces and almost dipped a part of gown into the soup.

 

"So, Doctor, where do you come from?" a person asks across the table and suddenly everyone goes quiet in a room

 

"Oh us, here and there, everywhere really. We travel all the time" she responded to the question so vaguely it left a person confused

 

"I see, and what brings you here to our beautiful city," a small elderly man, very thin looking continues to ask her questions

 

"Oh, just returning something of a considerable value in return for some important information that's all" a Doctor eyes Abzu across the table

 

Abzu stops the conversation "I suggest we all move to ball room now" she gets up as a sign for everyone to follow

 

The Doctor's gaze goes to Yaz as they are getting up "That doesn't look suspicious at all...does it?"

 

In a ball room everyone was mingling and chatting to each other when suddenly a tall young man approached Yaz "May have this dance please" he smiled to her offering his hand

 

"No, you may not!!!!" Doctor appeared out of nowhere between them grabbing Yaz's hand and pulling her away from a man who was just left standing in confusion

 

"Whaaa? Doctor!!!"

 

Doctor dragged her out of the ballroom into the hallway continuously tripping over her dress and pulling it in frustration all the time "I really hate this thing!!" she mutters in to her chin

 

She stops around the corner and looks around to make sure nobody follows them....

 

"Right listen...While they are having a Luis XIV party going on there, we are going to leave the boys, so nobody suspects us leaving the party...And you and I are going to go sightseeing this place a bit...Are you up for it?"

 

"Of course," Yaz smiles exited

 

Doctor pulls the sonic and starts scanning the hallway in front of them.

 

"This way Yaz" she points to the door

 

They walk through and go downstairs to what seems like a basement of some sorts. Doctor starts getting one of her glitches in her head "Contact!" she could hear the voice

 

She stops pulling Yaz into a halt

 

"What's wrong Doctor?"

 

Doctor sees a man in her mind trying to make a contact with her

 

"Contact" she replies but connection gets broken

 

"Now that's strange...Come on Yaz this way..." she pulls her hand

 

“What just happened Doctor?

 

“Oh nothing…just a glitch” She quickly dismisses the question

 

“What sort of glitch?”

 

Doctor instinctively wanted to reply with “Glitchy glitch” but suddenly feels like she has a deja vu of her argument with Yaz over Karvanista and gets overwhelming sense of regret

 

“There is someone here who is trying to contact me…A Time Lord Yaz”

 

“Contact you how? I don’t understand?”

 

“We can speak…telepathically…in our minds” she continues to explain patiently and suddenly releases to her surprise that the conversation is actually going well and not escalating into an argument

​

“Are they here with us in this place?”

​

“Maybe…we`re about to find out. Let’s go!”

 

There are several passageways in front of them and Doctor scans with sonic

 

"I'm getting strange readings" she suddenly dragged Yaz around the corner and pinned her against the wall behind her.

 

A man walks down the hallway passing next to them but not noticing them.

 

"That was close" Yaz sighs in relief

 

They pass next to the console room...Doctor peeking inside but there are men inside, so she shows Yaz to be quiet and waved her hand for them to sneak past the door.

 

At the end of the hallway, they entered the room that left them both stunned. Behind glass looking boxes are people locked up. Kept obviously prisoners in this place. Two men and one woman. Two elderly man and a woman and one younger man dressed in dirty rags with one of the men having a big wound on his head

 

"Please help us!!" the older man pleads

 

"OMG Doctor!!" Yaz wants to run towards them, but Doctor stopped her pulling her by her arm

 

"No wait Yaz!!" she turns to people in the cages "Why are you locked up here. Who is keeping in here? Who are you?"

 

"I tried sending you a message since you've arrived, but my mind is weak" older of the two men replies

 

"That was you?" Doctor is stunned

 

"Yes..I have felt you since you came but I couldn't contact you properly. I wasn't sure if you could hear me"

 

"Just about…Who are you?" Doctor asks confused

 

"We are the great Council, and that parasite has taken over the power 90 years ago. But I was hoping another Time Lord gets our message and you did. You found our ship. I know you don't trust me but one Time Lord to another you can look into my mind"

 

Doctor hesitates for a moment because to do it properly she needs to open the door. But she makes a calculative risk knowing she doesn't trust the woman upstairs anyway...she never did. She pulls her sonic out opens the door and reaches with her hand

 

"Contact"

 

Images of the invasion roll out in her head. Great Council taken down from the power arrested and tortured. Ship being sent as help" contact brakes as the man is too weak and collapses in her arms

 

"I'm sorry. I'm too weak" the man barely manages to speak

 

“It`s ok …you did great. I’m so sorry I didn’t find you sooner” Doctor gently lowers him to the floor and then waves her sonic to open the doors for the other people, but her action sets of the alarm

 

Doctor turns to Yaz "We need to get out of here!!!"

 

"Can you walk?" she asks the older man

 

"It's ok madam I will carry him" the other man approaches her and puts his arm on her shoulder and looks into her eyes "Thank you"

 

They get up and start leaving the room as they could hear the footsteps of the people running towards them

 

Yaz turns to look around the room and she spots something resembling a weapon on a wall. She takes it down but Doctor grabs her by her arm firmly

 

"Only in emergency Yaz"

 

"Can I shoot their legs?"

 

Doctor rolls her eyes "Just please try not to use it at all. Now let's go!!"

 

"This way" an elderly lady points the way

 

A man enters a room and starts shooting at them, but Doctor uses her sonic to knock a metal bar from the ceiling that falls on top of him knocking him out

 

"Yaz!! We need to disable the ships controls, or they will leave" Doctor yells

 

"Leave? What do you mean?" the man asks

 

"Long story but they are about to leave this place soon. Is there another way into the control room from here?"

 

The lady looks up to the vent shafts above them.

 

"Right...Yaz you go I'll disable the controls. Find Jack and Dan and I'll meet you

 

"How will you find us Doctor?" Yaz gets scared

 

"I'll find you don't worry go now"

 

Doctor starts ripping her dress to make it shorter. Yaz almost wanted to cry at the sight of the Doctor destroying such a beautiful gown. But she helps her get up into the vent shaft and gives her last look as she closes the lid

 

"Please be careful" Yaz pleads with her

 

"I will now go please"

 

Doctor crawls through the tunnel until she can see the console underneath, but two men are still inside. Yaz is walking through the curvy hallways following a tiny woman showing them a way. Two men start shouting at them from the bottom of the narrow corridor

 

"Sorry Doctor but this is an emergency!" she pulls a trigger shooting back "we need to be faster!!! I'm sorry”. She contacts Jack pressing the com device Doctor gave them before they left Tardis in case they ever got separated "Jack...Jack can you hear me?"

 

"Yes...where are you two?"

 

"Long story Jack we need help...we have a council members here. That woman trapped them she's an imposter. Doctor went to disable the ship. Meet us in a hallway"

 

"Agreed Yazee sweetie!!"

 

Jack walks over to Dan pulling him aside unnoticeably

 

"Time to go" he whispers in his ear

 

At the same time, the Doctor is still in the vent shafts trying to think of a way to distract the two people. She waves her sonic, causing disruption on a dashboard and as soon as the two men start fiddling with it, she carefully lowers herself out of the vent shaft on the floor behind them.

 

"Hello...I'm sorry, which way is the loo?" Doctor asks politely

 

The two men turn around surprised at her presence and before they have time to gather their thoughts, she disables them both by applying pressure on the side of their necks with her fingers. The two men drop on the floor.

 

"Sorry about that" she steps over them and starts flipping the switches and turning controls. She finishes with the sonic making sure nobody can undo what she's done.

 

Yaz managed to get to one of the doors and as they walked through, they were in a massive room with a big round table in the middle and statues in the corners of it. Statues of the three people one holding a planet one holding infinity symbol and one holding representation of that same medallion she found on the ship. Yaz quickly just glances over it and contacts Jack

 

"Jack, where are you? We are in... I don't know throne room or something" she's looking around the room trying to find a way to explain their location

 

"Where are your friends?" the older man asks

 

"Outside the ballroom in a hallway"

 

"Tell them to walk down the hallway second on left and then first on the right"

 

"Jack, did you hear that?"

 

"Got it. Coming over. What about the Doctor?"

 

"Dunno Jack she's still not here, her com isn't working last she was down in a basement in the console room"

 

"Yaz I'm sending Dan and I'm going to look for her. Stay put where you are. They still don't know we're missing but it won't be for long"

 

"Got ya...Hurry up pleaseeee!!"

 

Jack explains everything to Dan and leaves him in a hallway running after the Doctor.

 

At the same time Doctor is on her way back up hiding from the guards on every corner. But she is thankful there aren't many down there. She figured out they are probably worried about losing their prisoners and before notifying anyone upstairs trying to resolve the matter themselves. It definitely goes in their favor at this point. But she is also very aware that sooner or later they will be missing from the party, so she needs to be fast. She can hear the footsteps down the hallway, and she hides. She peaks through and a man's hand covers her mouth in a second. She screams for a second and a man releases her

 

"Jaaaaack!!!!!"

 

"Shhhh" he points his finger down the hallway then takes a little gadget out his pocket

 

"What's that?" Doctor whispers

 

"Got it from a friend of mine in a game of Poker. And he got it from another guy...well never mind...It makes us invisible for about 30 sec enough to pass by them unnoticed"

 

"I do love your gadgets Jack"

 

Doctor and Jack finally joined everyone. Doctor looks a mess with a torn dress and dirty from the vent shaft.

 

"Well, you had a rough evening Doctor" Dan makes a comment laughing

 

"I need to get changed...It itches you have no idea" she's fidgeting uncomfortably

 

Doctor walks over to the man who collapsed "How are you feeling?"

 

"I will be ok...We need a plan. We need to stop her before she finds out we're gone"

 

"I agree...But you need you to explain to me exactly what is going on here. I couldn't see everything because the contact broke. What is the medallion? Why is it so important and who is Wicked Witch of the Wes?”

 

The older lady starts explaining "Abzu used to be a timekeeper. But she became power hungry, and she used her knowledge to disrupt the time and let it loose. It has been running wild and causing time storms destroying the planets and galaxies. She took over our world. We have been in exile for years and just before we were captured, we sent a ship to repair what was damaged, but they got thrown out and landed on your planet never reaching their destination, never o be heard from again. The medallion they carried is a lock to keep the time at bay. It is called The Keeper Stone"

 

"Aaa so she lets time loose and when it destroys everything in its path, she uses the lock to trap it again and simply builds a world of her own...she weaponized Time. Is she related to Tecteun by any chance?"

 

"Who?" the man asks confused

 

"Never mind...just wondering what’s with everyone's obsession with time recently"

 

"So, what's the plan Doctor? How do we get the medallion?" Yaz turns to the Doctor

 

Doctor reaches into her pocket "You mean this medallion?" she raises her eyebrow and licks her lips gloating

"Whaaat? You had it all this time?" Dan`s eyes open wide

 

"So, if you had it all this time...Then what did you give to the evil lady?" Yaz asks confused

 

"A cheap Tardis copy" Doctor says satisfied

 

"But how? You lost me" Dan gets more lost then ever

 

"I made it a night before we left...Thought I might just in case...See Yaz the night before we left when I saw all the data, I've sent a message...a message only Time Lord can read...When there was no reply, I knew whoever is running this place isn't who they are pretending to be.... Besides, that scanning was just rude"

 

Doctor approaches the older lady "I think this belongs to you" she passes the medallion to her

 

"I have no words to express our gratitude for keeping this safe for us. I haven't introduced myself yet. I'm sorry. My name is Anaya"

 

"Nice to meet you Anaya" Doctor smiles

"Now Anaya how does this work? This Keeper Stone...lock...what does it actually lock?"

 

"We need to take it to Atropos. If you have a way to take us there, I will do the rest."

 

"Right...do you maybe have coordinates...map...gps...something? I'm going to need a bit of a help with that one" Doctor makes a sour face a bit embarrassed she doesn't know how to get there herself

 

"Yes of course" the old lady replies bit baffled that Doctor is not familiar with the location

 

"Oh brilliant...I need to write it down...I am going there quite often recently. But first thing first...We need get rid of Maleficent over there"

 

Sound of the alarm gets everyone distracted.

 

"Well, I guess the party is over?" Jack says sarcastically looking towards the door "They will be here any time Doctor"

 

The younger man turns to the Doctor "I'm going to sneak out of the building and get my men. Do not worry about her. Just go to Atropos and I will manage this. I was waiting a long time for this moment"

 

"Good idea. We need to get to Tardis as fast as we can. Jack, can you get us there?"

 

"I thought you will never ask" Jack gives her the biggest smile

 

"How is he going to get us to the Tardis?"

 

"Magic Yazzie sweets" he winks at her getting his vortex manipulator ready

 

"Right...everyone gather around" Jack is pushing everyone to one pile

 

The moment Jack gets everyone ready, doors bust open, and soldiers walk in.

 

"Sorry...we are not staying for dessert. We`re in a bit of rush" Jack yells just as he is about to transport everyone

Chapter 7

In a split second they were all back on Tardis

 

"How did you do that???" Yaz is asking amazed looking around to reassure herself they are really back on Tardis

 

"Vortex manipulator...see" he shows her his wrist

 

"That is so cool!! I need one of those"

 

Dan and the Doctor make sure the older man is comfortable. Doctor goes to the console and pulls a pill out. She rushes to the old man and hands it to him

 

"Have this. It will make you feel better. Just don't eat anything for next days or you will turn purple" she walks away leaving a man looking at her in disbelief

 

Doctor looks down on herself and creases her face "I have to get out of these clothes. Yaz I need to change and in a meantime please get Tardis ready"

 

"What??? How?" she looks at her confused

 

"Oh shoot!!!...Sorry wrong Yaz...never mind...I'll be back in a second, I just can't think wearing this stuff"

 

She runs off and comes back in few min wearing her usual blue trousers t-shirt and her coat turning around and showing off

 

"Much better...right?"

 

Anaya's was gazing around Tardis she approaches the Doctor "Doctor where do you come from?"

 

"Gallifrey, constellation of Kasterborous"

 

“Gallifreyan...hmm...interesting"

 

"Why? Have you heard of Gallifrey?" Doctor gets intrigued

 

"In a way yes...There is a legend about Gallifrey...of a lost child from our world who fell through time into another world of Gallifrey"

 

Doctor freezes in a spot, she could feel heat rising up from her feet and her hearts beating so fast she could almost hear them

 

"What child? Who was a child? '' she barely managed to say the words

 

"Oh, it's just a story...The child was the first ever Time Lord...It's just a legend...Doctor, I'm sorry to interrupt but we need to leave now!"

 

Doctor shakes her head trying to make herself concentrate again but she's burning inside to find out more. "Yes of course no time...sorry...silly me...Please...coordinates..."

 

Doctor pulls the lever and they set off. Back to the same place. The place that gives her nightmares. The place that still echoes with dread deep in her soul.

 

They land into a familiar hallway...Doctor turns to Yaz..."Please...this time you stay...I cannot take you here"

 

"But why? You need help" she objects strongly

 

"No... not this place...no time to explain. Please stay" suddenly there’s a high level of stress in her voice

 

"Alright Doctor" she replies disappointed and sad but turns around

 

"Dan, Jack let's go"

 

Doctor steps out dragging her feet. Memories of Swarm, Azur and Flux flash in front of her eyes.

 

Dan walks closer to her "Doctor am I the only one feeling chills down my spine from this place?"

 

"No Dan... not at all...This place gives me the creeps and not many places do. But we need to get Yaz back and we need to save Earth...I'm sorry you have to go through it again Dan, I really am"

 

"We're in this together, Doctor. You didn't have it any easier either" he puts a hand on her shoulder as an insurance

 

"Oh, I almost forgot. Jack!"

 

She reaches into her pocket and takes out two round shape objects

 

"Take this, both of you. If I tell you...and let's hope that I don't...but in case that I do...place them on the opposite walls and press this button."

 

"What is it?" Dan is twirling it in his hand

 

"Temporal force field"

 

Anaya suddenly falls to the floor twisting in pain. Doctor runs to her and tries to get her of the ground

 

"No Doctor...This is where my journey ends. I always knew they would be waiting for me here I guess I was just hoping for the best" the woman reaches for the medallion hanging around her neck and hands it over to the Doctor "It's down to you now lost child" her lifeless hand drops to the floor as orange light starts flying into the air and her body slowly turning into dust that just slips through the Doctors fingers and falls to the ground

 

"Nooo!!!" she cries out in despair “Please tell me this is not happening!!”

 

Doctor visibly shaken gets up from the floor and turns to the boys

 

"Go back to Tardis, both of you!" she says firmly tightening her lips

 

"Not a chance...Not in million years!!" Jack replies determined

 

"I'm not even joking Jack...Change of plans, I cannot protect any of you here and I'm not losing one more person today. Go, leave!!"

 

She's trying to push him away, but Jack grabs her wrists holding on to her in a tight grip

 

"We didn't come all this way to hide inside your blue box. We're in this together."

 

"Jack is right Doctor, we aren't going anywhere" Dan agrees determined to stay with the Doctor no matter what lies ahead

 

"Let's get this over and done with...ok?" Jack looks into her eyes filled with fear "Besides, you’re not the only one here who cares about Yaz”

 

She starts to slowly calm down and getting her focus back.

 

"Ok…. Fine...Were doing this together. But please Jack…and I know you. No rush decisions. You can let go of me now Jack" Doctor glances over his hands still holding on to her

 

As they step into the main hall Doctor gasps

 

"Yaaaaz!!!!!!!" she screams from top of her voice

 

A young woman is sitting in the middle of an empty room hopelessly staring at the floor like a little lost child twirling the little cube Doctor gave her in her hands. She lifts her head up thinking her mind is playing tricks on her, but their eyes meet across the room.

 

"Doctor!!!" she lets out a faint voice

 

Doctor runs down the stairs faster than her legs can carry her

 

"Doctor noooo!!" Yaz yells but not quick enough. Doctor hits the energy barrier surrounding Yaz with such force she gets thrown across the room

 

"Doctor are you alright?" Yaz is calling for her in desperation

 

"I'm fine...I'm fine...Well that gave me a head wobble... " she gets up shaking her head and getting her sonic out.

 

"You came"

 

"Of course, I came...Ever had a doubt? I'd turn the universe upside down for you" she gets serious and approaches the barrier "Are you hurt?"

 

"No Doctor...I'm fine. Dan, Jack you're all here!!" Yaz's face lights up when she sees them coming down the stairs

 

"Yazee sweets finally" Jack smiles

 

"Sheffield, how in a world did you get in here? We've been looking all over for you?"

 

"Just woke up here...I've been here alone I lost track of time"

 

"Give me a minute Yaz I'll get you out of here just need to figure this out" Doctor is scanning the barrier with Sonic but she's not getting anything "Shoot...every time...I'm really getting annoyed with this place!!"

 

"What if I just try..." Jack tries to use his vortex manipulator to get inside of the barrier but energy field throws him out to the other side of the room

 

"Jack!!!" Doctor yells

 

"I'm fine...I'm fine..." he gets up all covered with dust but not hurt

 

"I told you we will meet again"

 

The voice behind her speaks calmly and it instantly gives Doctor chills down her spine, but saving Yaz is more important than her fear, so she pulls herself together and turns around just to see her own reflection standing right In front of her one more time

 

“What is that?” Jack looks at Dan in confusion but Dan shakes his head not understanding any of it either

 

"Oh, you again...Don't give up, do you? Rocking the creepy look again" Doctor plays it cool but inside she's scared. She is painfully aware that an ultimatum is coming her way and it's involving Yaz.

 

"You just can't help yourself can you...always trying to help, always putting your nose into everything Doctor. But this time I have something of yours...something precious."

 

"What do you want?" Doctor goes into her face

 

"Infinity Stone in exchange for her life"

 

"And let you run wild destroying everything? Really? ...Oh, come on we’ve been through this before...You know I can't do that. "

 

"Then she dies" Time waives her hand and Yaz starts to phase out.

 

"Doctor what's happening?!!" poor Yaz starts panicking looking at her hands slowly disappearing

 

"I will erase her like she's never excited and your memories of her will disappear out of your mind Doctor. She will be forgotten. The little insignificant human you love so much"

 

Doctor turns to the barrier "Yaz!!!!" she yells and automatically reaches for her but the pain is unbearable

 

Doctor takes the medallion out of her pocket dangling it "Do that one more time and I will open it! And you will be locked in here forever. Let her go!!!"

 

"And risk losing her? I don't think so Doctor. Let me ask you something" She's walking making circles around the barrier eyeing Yaz up and down with contempt in her eyes

 

"What's so important about this creature? So fragile. She is nothing but a second in your life?"

 

"You wouldn't understand even if I spelled it out for you"

 

"I could give you everything...the whole universe"

 

"What makes you think for a second I don't already have it" Doctors gaze turns to Yaz

 

"CONTACT" doctor makes a desperate attempt, something she's never done before

 

"Doctor, how are you doing that?" Yaz looks at in confusion, she can hear Doctors voice in head

 

"Time Lord tricks...listen Yaz...do you trust me?" she's not taking her eyes of Yaz for a second

 

"You know I do"

 

"On my mark Yaz be ready" she makes a subtle move with her head to Yaz and turns back to Time

 

“You know something is really bugging me all the Time…Ha Time…see what I did there?” Doctor grins

“Why Yaz? Why not just end me? What do you need her for when you can just click your fingers and erase things out of existence? You want to kill me...destroy me? Do it...Here's your chance...take it. No more lives...no more regenerations. Fine, do it...Aaaa and then it dawned on me. But you can't...Can you? Not until I am myself. Am I on right track here? Oh, I think I am”

 

Doctor starts walking around it, goes closer to her ear and whispers

"But you know what? I will never open that watch...ever...you hear me...I will never be myself and you will never be able to get rid of me. I don't even know what's in it...I don't care!! But you never thought that. You all thought I would have a desperate need to open it up. But I don't. So, what will you do now? Ha? Make me do it? Break me?"

 

"I will make you beg me Doctor" Time smiles and snapped her fingers and Yaz started to fade again 

 

"CONTACT"

 

Doctors' memories flash inside Yaz's mind. Every moment, every second since the moment she has laid her eyes on her. She can feel her hearts beating, emotions rushing through her. Love sadness and fear...hearts beating faster...Suddenly stillness. Doctor is standing in front of her.

 

"Doctor? What’s happening? Where are we?"

 

Doctor takes her hand and places it on her hearts “Don’t be scared Yas…You trust me, don’t you?

 

“Always you know that”

 

“We are in my mind Yaz its ok, we can take this down together” she strokes her cheek “And you know why?”

 

Yaz gazes in her green eyes like they are the answer to all the questions in the universe

 

Doctor smiles gently “Because love is the most powerful force in the universe" she wipes a tear from Yaz's cheek

 

"I love you Doctor" Yaz swallows her tears

 

Doctor leans over and presses her lips on hers

 

A bright light blinded them both. Yaz looks around. She's back in a room but barrier is gone, and Doctor is standing in front of her smiling

 

"We did it!!"

 

"That's impossible" Time mumbles taken back

 

"Jack, Dan now!!!" Doctor shouts across the room

 

Dan and Jack run each on one side of the room placing small round disc shaped objects on the walls and pressing them at the same time. A massive force field spreads around the room.

 

"What have you done?" the Time shouts at the Doctor trying to get out but the barrier is unbreakable

 

"Temporal force field...courtesy of the Time Lords. Remember one thing for future reference. Do not ever touch my family again!!"

 

Doctor takes the medallion out and smashes it on the floor. A wave of energy shoots out so powerful it knocks everyone on the ground. Moriai appears in the middle of the room and Time fades away into small particles of dust flying off into the air.

 

Doctor gets up all covered in dust reaching out for Yaz's hand

 

"Are you alright?"

 

"I'm fine" she gets of the ground still shaken and in a bit of shock

 

"Sorry about that...didn't know how that works really"

 

"Blimey Doctor, what was that?" Dan gets up from the ground spitting dust out his mouth

 

"So sorry guys...it didn't come with instruction manual" she's being really apologetic feeling bad everyone went flying like skittles

 

"Your work here is done Doctor" one of the Moirai speaks to her

 

"You have repaired Doctor, but Time will set in one rotation, make sure you get your friends home safe before doorway is closed"

 

"I will, thank you" Doctor replies

 

"Let's go home...shall we?!!" she smiles to everyone

 

"Good job Doctor. It didn't look promising at one point" Dan taps her on a shoulder

 

"Are you saying you doubted me Dan?"

 

"Nah never Doctor" he smiles and starts climbing the stairs

 

Jack climbs the stairs and turns to the girls "Come on you two...you heard what the lady said. We need to get everyone home"

 

"Be right with you Jack...meet you in a Tardis" Doctor replies not even looking at him. Her eyes are focused only on Yaz at this point.

 

Jack smiles and muttered in his chin "Just kiss the girl will you" he walks off smiling

 

Yas is gazing at the Doctor with her big brown eyes still confused and not really sure if what happened was just in her mind or real. Her heart racing in her chest whilst the Doctor reaches for her hand stroking it with her thumb and then intertwining their fingers. She pulls her closer. Yaz is finding it difficult to breathe and not knowing really how to react or what to do.

 

"Doctor? Why are we not leaving?"

 

Doctor looks at her in silence. Smiling gently at her. Not really believing she has her back. Taking one step forward she is inches away, so close Yaz can feel the Doctor's breath on her face.

 

"Say it again"

 

"Say what Doctor?" she gulps

 

Yaz can feel Doctors hand sliding around her waist pulling her closer and closing a gap between them more and more until there's hardly any gap between them left. She feels like the ground is opening underneath her feet.

 

"You know...what you said to me...say that again"

 

Doctor lets go of her hand, but her fingers find their way through her hair moving it from her face. She closes her eyes for a second leaning her cheek on Doctors hand and when she opens them again Doctors beautiful green eyes are gazing back at her like doorways into another universe waiting for her to walk through. She takes one breath and finally the words leave her mouth

 

"I love you" she whispers with a shaky voice

 

Doctor’s lips are pressed against hers faster than Yaz could blink. She's kissing her so passionately Yaz feels like she will fall to the ground. She grabs her coat holding on to it like for dear life and pulls her in closer wrapping her arms around her neck.

Doctor pulls away just for a bit. Yaz can feel her hearts beating in her chest, Doctors thumb stroking her cheek gently

 

"Ready to go home?"

 

"I thought you'd never ask" she smiles and reaches for her hand holding it tight and never wanting to let go

 

They walk over to Tardis but before they walk through the door Doctor stops her and pulls her back.

 

"Wait...something I need to tell you...well not tell you...really warn you..." she's twisting her face and scrunching it up trying to get the words out in a proper way

 

"What? What are you trying to say?"

 

"Mmmmm....you know, like when everything was crushing down, and dimensions are all over the place...and you need to think really fast..." Doctor sounds like a child trying to justify some really naughty thing they just did to a parent

 

"Doctor...for god’s sake just say it!" Yaz loses her patience

 

"I picked up the other you from a parallel dimension" she stops and makes a sour face "But before you get upset...I had to, and I needed to keep all parts of you safe and believe me when I say it, I know the difference between you and her and..."

 

"You did whaaaaaaaat????? Are you saying there is like another me...like me on Tardis...For how long?" Yaz get furious let's go of the Doctors hand and starts pacing around

 

"Well, all this time really" Doctor twists her face

 

"So, all this time whilst I was kept a prisoner in there you were flying around with my....my.... copy?" she's huffing and puffing, and she could feel jealousy rising up inside her

 

Doctor reaches for her hand and pulls her in wrapping her arms around her waist holding her tight

 

"Please don't get upset...I had no choice Yaz I had to keep you safe...in all time and all the places. I couldn't risk you getting hurt or used in some way"

 

"Alright then...well I can't get upset with you for long time anyway...as long as you don't kiss her"

 

"Yasmin Khan absolutely not!!! ...Who do you think I am? ...All my kisses are just reserved for one version of you"

 

"They better be" she's pouting a bottom lip out like child looking up at the Doctor

 

"You look cute...don't look that cute...we need to go" she presses a short kiss on her pouted lip and grabs her hand "Now be nice"

 

"I'm always nice"

 

They walk inside Tardis and straight from the door a young woman come up to them

 

"Waaaw...that's really weird"

 

"Yazmin Khan meet my Yaz" Doctor smiles "Don't get too friendly you two, we need to get you home as soon as possible, you two cannot be next to each other for too long" Doctor flies off to the console and starts flipping the switches

 

"Hi...nice to meet you" Yaz says to her other self in very awkward way

 

"It's very nice to meet you, Yaz. I am so glad you're safe. Doctor wouldn't shut up about you all the time" she smiles looking at the Doctor across the control room

 

"Really?" Yaz lights up to those words

 

"Really, I think she would crush dimensions herself to find you"

 

"Yaz!" Doctor calls across the room "I need my copilot" she smiles

 

"Of course, Doctor"

 

"You know how to pilot that thing?" the young woman's eyes spread wide

 

"You bed I do!" Yaz says proudly

 

"Waaaw...now that's proper awesome"

 

"Take over for a second Yaz, I need to speak to someone for a min"

 

"Sure Doctor"

 

Doctor walks over to the older man who is now feeling a bit better. "I am so sorry for Anaya. There was nothing I could do about it"

 

"I know Doctor, your friends told me everything. But you did a lot for us, and we will always be grateful to you. I know Anaya would. At least she died a free woman, fighting for our people" he squeezes Doctors hand "I never introduced myself. My name is Aren"

 

"It is very nice to meet you, Aren. If you excuse me but I need to get back to the console. We need to get you home as soon as possible before time sets in"

 

"Of Course, Doctor"

 

They arrived at Dari and said goodbye to Aren. Many things were left unexplained, and the Doctor wished she had a chance to stay longer. It was still bugging her what Anaya said to her with her last breath. But the Doctor had to move on and make her peace with it that some things are going to have to stay a mystery to her for a bit longer. Arens' people could finally stop running and settle down and Abzu will face her punishment for treason.

 

Back to Tardis and on a way to leave Yaz's twin. Doctor is at the controls looking at them two talking to each other on the steps of the control room. She stops for a second deep into her thoughts thinking how this strange adventure made her rethink her life and probably set a curse of events that will lead her to a whole different future. "Life is short even if you get to regenerate '' Jack's words resonated in her mind and found a place within her hearts in some strange way.

 

"Right girls...we arrived" she slowly walks towards Yaz's twin

 

"I'm sorry for kidnapping you like that. And thank you...for everything...I couldn't have done it without you"

 

"It's ok Doctor, long forgiven. You've given me adventures of a lifetime. And I'm happy you two found each other in the end. Be happy" she gives a short hug to Yaz and and squeezes Doctor really tight

 

"You're really amazing you know" she smiles

 

"Not as amazing as Yasmin Khan. Have a beautiful life"

 

"Nobody will believe me...but I got my keepers" she shows a little bracelet Doctor got her on Dari and smiles

 

She says goodbye to Jack and Dan with tears in her eyes. Steps out Tardis and gives everyone a short waive before turning her back and walking away.

 

Doctor turns around like wind, her coat flying through the air and in seconds she back at the console

 

"So, let's go home. Jack? " she turns to him, but she knows an answer

 

"Can I stay? Just a tiny bit longer?"

 

"I thought you'd never ask" she smiles and pulls the lever

 

Late at night when everyone is already in bed Doctor is at her usual spot crouching her shoulders over the console. She hears familiar footsteps behind her. She missed those so much. A smell of freshly cut grass spreading around the room. She stands there not wanting to turn around. Letting Yaz make the first move really intrigued me as to what she's going to do.

 

Yaz stands behind her in silence. Now everyone is gone and it's just them two she had no chance in all the madness to really process what happened. No chance to really think things through. But she knows one thing for certain. She loves this universe in front of more than life itself. And she just wants to wrap her arms around it and claim it for herself. So, she slowly comes behind the Doctor and wraps her arms around her waist and places her head on her back and closes her eyes.

 

Doctor closes her eyes, enjoying a short moment of feeling Yaz's breathing on her back. She placed her hands over Yaz's gently and stays like that for a short moment before she turns around and meets Yaz's gaze

 

"Tell me again"

 

"Tell you what?" yaz smiles

 

Doctor slides her hand around her waist and pulls her hips close locking her in

 

"You know what"

 

"I love you bighead"

 

"I love you too beautiful" she kisses her softly

doctor pulls away just and inch

"Yaz"

​

"Yes Doctor?"

​

"Can we have this forever?"

​

Yaz giggles "I`d like that" she presses her lips on Doctors and kisses her passionately
