Chapter 1

​The Doctor came bursting through the Tardis door and dumped loads of junk on the floor of the console room

"What's that?" Dan asked looking at the pile of what to him looked like rubbish

"That is what we need to repair the leaking in the swimming pool"

"Oh, didn't know we had swimming pool” he takes some stuff from her hands putting it on a floor

"We have loads of stuff Dan"

"Doctor!!!!!" Yaz yelled from outside kicking the door with her foot

"Oh, sorry Yaz" she opened the door for her and saw her barely holding the stuff in her hands

"Take it...take it …. aaaaa" things dropped on the floor "Sorry"

"It's ok Yaz don't worry"

"Girls let me help you. Come on" Dan said twirling some part in his hand

"Alright...Come here" Doctor walked to the console and pulled up the picture of the part she needed "There...look for this...I desperately need that" she gave him the metal detector

"Finally, I feel useful" he walked outside on a pile of rubbish that was stretching for miles “Ok…I will be back in a month…or two” he yelled “It will give you two time alone that’s for sure” he says quietly smirking into his chin

"Yaz...with me...come on let's go"

She takes her down to the lower level of the Tardis. The part she hasn't seen before. It looked weird with all the massive cables everywhere and loads of of other stuff she was afraid to touch.

"I like this..." Doctor said pulling one of the cables out

"Like what...this place?" Yaz asked confused

"Like us...doing things together Yaz"

"You do?"

"Of course, Yaz, why wouldn't I?"

"I like it too" she passes her a wrench

"You've been very quiet lately Yaz, are you ok?"

"Yeah, why wouldn't I be?"

"I don't know...You’re not yourself...just saying" she unhooked one cable and loads of water splashed on the floor "Shoot...What's that?"

"What's what?" Yaz was getting lost for a bit in her thoughts and then came back

"I need some light here. Can you pass me that flashlight there Yaz?"

"Sure"

Yaz turned around to grab it from the floor when the whole Tardis shook violently, and sparks started flying around

"Doctor???...What's going on?" she yells but in a split second explosion ripped through the Tardis

It was cold, very cold and Yaz couldn't figure out why. Maybe her cover fell of the bed, or maybe she left the window open. Oh wait, there were no windows on Tardis. Why is it so cold, she wondered. She opened her eyes and first thing she saw was snowflakes falling on the ground her sight was blurred. It was silent...unusually silent around her.

Yaz opened her eyes more and felt dread going through her as she looked around and couldn't understand where she was. All she could see was forest, massive forest and mountains stretching where ever her eyes could see. No Tardis, no Doctor. She remembered the explosion but after that nothing else. Her eyes were heavy and her head was hurting…

"Yaz!!!...Yaz!!!!" the frantic voice was calling her

"Doctor?" she replied confused

"Yaz wake up please...shoot...Yaz pleasee" she felt a hand on her cheek and finally opened her eyes

"Doctor?"

She was lying with her head in Doctors lap. Doctor looked completely stressed and scared like she's never seen her before. Snow was still falling, but she felt something warm on her face.

"Aaaaa...this is bad...this is really bad" Doctor was tearing the bottom of her coat and Yaz had no idea why until she touched her head and looked at her fingers covered in blood.

"OMG what happened...Dan??? Where’s Dan?"

"Don't move Yaz. Dan was outside he's fine...we on the other hand...Just don't move...you're gonna be fine" Doctor looked around concerned. She pressed the cloth on her head and that's when the pain kicked in

"Aaaaa" she cried from pain

"I know...I know I'm so sorry" she grabbed her hand and squeezed it tight

"What happened?"

Doctor took a sonic out shining into her eyes "I think you have a mild conclusion...Come on…slowly" she helps her to get up on her feet, but Yaz was still unsteady holding on to her

"What happened? Where's Tardis?" She's asking looking around confused as they were slowly walking. She's following the Doctor not actually understanding even where they are going or where they were.

"The blockage caused a temporal explosion within the Tardis. She protected us but the time and dimension and space it's all jumbled up now"

"What is this place?"

"Still Tardis Yaz we are still inside.... I just need to find a way around"

"Whaaaa...It's a forest and mountains and..." She's saying confused out of mind

"Tardis is...well it's big Yaz...come on. We need to find shelter first. I need to sort you out. Can't stay in a snow. Here we go there..." she points to the door in the middle of nowhere

“OMG this reminds me of Narnia all we need is a wardrobe and the witch” Yaz commented looking at the door on a side of the mountain

Suddenly a massive creature stepped out looking like some sort of a wild cat with piercing blue eyes and white fur

"DOCTOR!!!" she grabbed her hand petrified

"Hey, Scoons, it's fine don't be scared" she stepped forward

"What are you doing?"

"It's ok Yaz.. he's just scared"

"What is it? You have animals in here?"

"Yeah...some. Found him hurt about 300 years ago and when he got better, he wouldn't leave so I kept him...it's ok Yaz he's just scared...Hey...it's fine. I'll sort this out" she came up to him and a massive cat that was about two meters taller than the Doctor bent down for a cuddle. She dug her both hands into the sides of his huge head cuddling him like you would a dog. "There you are big boy...It's ok" she looked towards Yaz smiling "See, nothing to worry about...his harmless just a gentle giant...Come on Yaz...let's go" she walked up to her helping her through the door

They walked into leftovers of the wardrobe room. Broken and shattered, stuff everywhere and stairs broken. There was a sound echoing around the room that sounded like someone was pounding on the bottom of the ship under the water. "What's that Doctor?"

"Just...cloister...don't worry about it Yaz it's nothing" she grabbed her hand "Are you alright?"

"Yes, stop fussing" she smiles

"I'm not fussing...come on...that way" she kicks some stuff on the floor with her boot to clear the way...Oh boy...that does look nasty" she looked around at the massive damage inside but continued walking taking them up the wobbly stairs

"I can't remember doors being there?" Yaz looked confused and then down from the edge of the staircase

"No, it wasn't...it's all a bit wobbly now" Doctor made a step forward and heard the cracking noise. She pushed Yaz forward against the wall and the floor crumbled underneath her feet

"DOCTOR!!!!!" Yaz screamed. She was nowhere to be seen and Yaz goes down on the floor crawling on all fours "Doctor!" she cried out

"I'm fine!" the hand comes over the edge trying to grab onto something

"OMG...Are you ok?" she grabbed Doctors hand pulling her as hard as she could, pressing her foot against the leftover of the railings "Oh god…ok I got you!" she grabs her coat pulling her up breathing deeply and shaking

"I'm fine Yaz I'm fine..." Doctor tapped her hand that was wrapped around her. Yaz holding on to her for dear life "I'm fine Yaz...That would've hurt" she smiles but Yaz didn't find it funny not even one little bit "Come on Yaz...let's go" Doctor started crawling down the narrow pathway and Yaz followed her until they came to the part where they could stand up again

Yaz stumbled grabbing on to her shoulder

"Yaz!!...are you alright?"

"Yeah...I'm fine...just dizzy a bit"

Doctor points a sonic into her eyes and clenched her jaw "Come on...slowly...give me your hand"

"Here we go" she tried to open the door, but she couldn't "Shoot...you really are poorly aren't you" she points the sonic and managed to open it

"Aaaa library...oh boy...Or what's left of it more likely" she looked around the shattered place with millions of books scattered all over the floor and broken book shelfs "Here Yaz sit down" she tipped back the sofa that was laying on it's side and sat Yaz onto it "Stay here...I'll be right back Yaz"

"Where are you going?"

"I should have something here...just give me a minute"

"At least it's warm" her eyes were darting around a massive place. She loved the library, it was one of her favorite places on Tardis. But now it looked like it went through the war.

"Hey! Found it" Doctor yelled from one of the tall balconies that looked like it will crumble down to the floor.

"Please don't die" Yaz says looking at her up there giving her chills after what just happened earlier. The squeaking of the wood adding to her fears. But in seconds Doctor ran downstairs and she was next to her

"How are you feeling Yaz?"

"Not good"

"You hit your head pretty hard Yaz" she looked at the wound on her hair line and it was big but it stopped bleeding, so she was happy with that.

Yaz sat on a sofa feeling a bit nausea and dizzy. Her head was hurting badly. Doctor brought quite a big wooden box with her. When she opened it up it looked like one of those bags doctors from Victorian times were carrying around. Loads of small bottles and some other gadgets Yaz had no strength to even look at. She felt so bad she was just sitting on a sofa like a child with her hands in her lap letting Doctor do what ever she wanted with her.

"I have to do this Yaz...It won't hurt" She soaked the cloth with something she took out of the box and when she pressed it on Yaz's head she cried in pain.

"You said it wouldn't hurt" she grabbed Doctors wrist in pain

"Oh, well I lied...sorry" she scrunches her nose and gives a shot on top of it all making Yaz jump "I'm so sorry...I have to clean it Yaz" she shined a sonic into her eyes again "Mmmm … alright..." lie down Yaz

"What no... We need to sort this out"

"No, no, Yaz...I need to sort this out. You are going to stay here" she pushes her down to the sofa

"No, I'm going with you I'm fine...I'm not a baby" she gets up on her feet and Doctor starts counting down

"3,2,1..." Yaz stumbled and almost fell to the floor Doctor catching her in time "Yap...not going anywhere Yaz" she lied her back down

The Doctor laid her back, then jumped again, returning with a blanket shaking it from all the dust and pieces of broken wood. She hit books and other rubble with her boots as she climbed piles of broken broken stuff all around to make a way for herself. "Here... this will keep you warm. Temperature will drop in here though the night because nothing is working properly now" she covered Yaz and picked up a small cushion from the floor placing it underneath her head and then scanned the place with her sonic "Yap...it's dropping"

"What about your cat...Won't he freeze?"

"No don't worry he'll be fine...just rest now"

Yaz felt tiered her eyes closing, and she could swear she felt Doctors fingers on her cheek stroking her, but it was probably her being delusional from the head injury. So, she just snuggled in and within few minutes she was out.

Doctor left her there and hopped around throwing stuff out of the way. She climbed up on a massive pile of rubble looking around. "Oh boy...no way out...this will be a long night"

It was late and the Doctor took the panels off the walls exposing a bunch of wires and cables. She dragged them everywhere. Her sleeves were rolled up and she didn't have a coat on. She lay on the floor on her back tying the wires hanging over her head. Sparks flew here and there, but she patiently assembled them for hours. . "Ok that should work…Still so much to do"

Yaz walked up wrapped in her blanket. She was still feeling bad but better than earlier. But she was cold. Really cold.

"Doctor?"

"Yaz...goodness why did you get up?" she gets up quickly

"I want to help. You've been doing this for hours now"

"I'm fine Yaz...I'll sort it out by the morning don't worry" she approached her and touched her forehead "Your burning up Yaz...come on..." she grabs her arm pulling her back towards the sofa

"But you can't do this on your own"

"I always have done Yaz...come on" she leads her back and laid her back down putting blanket over her again. She took another shot out of the box and gave it to Yaz

"Auch!!" Yaz yelped

Doctor took her hand and laced her fingers with hers. She stoked her face but Yaz still though she was delusional

"You're so pretty" Yaz said drifting off

Doctor smiled and made funny face scrunching her nose. But behind all the messing around she was increasingly worried about her. Yaz wasn't good at all and she had to get them out as soon as possible.

"You're very pretty too Yaz. Sleep now" she strokes her face with her thumb until Yaz closed her eyes again

Doctor ran back to her wires and started frantically digging through all the rubble frowning it around to get to another panel and ripped it off the wall exposing a small shaft. "Hmmm...this body may just be small enough" she began squeezing through a tiny hole in the wall and when she was almost completely inside a narrow space, she lit it up with a sonic "Aaaaa...that's it...If I could only reach...Aaaaarrrhh" she stretched her arm around as much as she could pushing herself with her feet deeper inside of the cavity "Got ya" she grabbed the cable and wiggled herself out holding it. "Well hopefully you will have enough power till the morning" she connects the cable and Tardis hummed "Good morning girl" she looked up "Sorry about that...we should be fine in few hours. Then I'll fix you I promise"

Tardis was humming and some lights flickered. She scanned with the sonic all the wires "It worked" she sighed relieved

Yaz was sleeping and Doctor grabbed one of the books of the floor shaking it. She sat down on the floor next to her and started reading it. Yaz slumped her hand over her shoulder and Doctor took it kissing her fingertips. She continued to hold it whilst reading.

"Doctor?" Yaz said with a faint voice about an hour later and opened her eyes slightly

"Hey...how are you feeling?" she asked worriedly touching her forehead that was still burning up

"I'm so cold"

"You would be Yaz...you're having a fever...Wait here...There must be more blankets in here. I definitely had them in my previous regeneration I remember" she hoped around for about few minutes "Got it!!!" she yelled from the rubble, but Yaz was too weak to reply. She came back to her and was about to cover her

"Lie next to me...please" Yaz said with her eyes half open shivering so much she could hear her own teeth shutter

Doctor stood for a short moment confused. She wouldn't deny her request but she felt like didn’t want to either. She put her arms down still holding the blanket, kicked her boots off and started climbing the sofa laying behind Yaz covering both of them with two blankets.

"Better?" she asked putting her head on Yaz's shoulder and wrapping her herself around her snuggling in

"Much better...Doctor did you resolve it?"

"It will be by the morning...The blast nocked out all the circuits, but the power should come back by the morning. Then I can get you to the medic bay"

"I’ll be fine. Don't worry" she whispered and snuggled her head into the pillow

Doctor reached for Yaz's hand and laced their fingers together. She pressed herself against her back pulling her in. She was scared, Yaz felt hot, and she was weak but they had no choice than to ride it out till the morning.

"You smell nice" Yaz mumbled through her fever

Doctor smiled and kissed her cheek

"Doctor"

"Yes Yaz?"

"You wouldn't leave me, would you?"

"No..." she pulled her in with her hand that was wrapped around her waist "I wouldn't...not ever Yaz"

Doctor went quiet for a while. She felt Yaz breathing underneath her hand and her hair smelled fresh. She was tiered herself but forced herself to stay awake worried to fall asleep in case she gets worse. She knew time was ticking.

"Good" Yaz whispered

"Good what Yaz?" she lifted her head a bit confused

"Good you won't leave me"

"Nope...not happening again Yaz" Doctor put her head back on Yaz's shoulder pressing her cheek onto hers "...don't worry yourself now, sleep"

Yaz went quite and then turned around snuggling herself into Doctors chest. She felt her breathing on her neck. For a moment Doctor was taken back and confused, but then she wrapped her arms around her holding her tight.

"I love you" Yaz said quietly into her neck

Doctor squeezed her and wrapped her fingers around the back of her head "I love you too Yaz" she whispered very quietly

…

"Yaz!!...Yaz wake up" Doctor said gently hovering above her

Yaz opened her eyes and saw Doctors face beaming happily standing above her "Look" she points towards the door that appeared out of nowhere

“We can get out” Yaz said smiling still weak

"Come on…just slowly" she helps her up "How are you feeling?"

"Better...It's warm"

"Your fever is gone" she touched her forehead and scanning her with her sonic "Yap much better but I still need you in a medics bay...Come on let's go...just walk slowly Yaz" she helped her to walk as she was still weak

They entered an empty white room that made Yaz confused. She's never seen it before.

"Where are we? It smells of roses"

"Aaaa...my beautiful ghost monument" she smiled "We gonna stay here for a while Yaz. Come here" Doctor puts her hand on Yaz's temple and nocks her out

Yaz opened her eyes and released she was on the mattresses in the middle of the console room.

Doctor was working on the console as usual. Her sleeves rolled up and soft light shining on her face.

"Doctor?"

"Yaz!!" she literally jumped of the floor and ran towards her "Don't get up...you still need to rest"

"How did I?"

"Dan helped…it's fine" she sits next to her

"And Tardis?"

"All back to normal. You were out for 3 days" she crawled onto the mattress and lied down facing her "You scared me Yaz" she reached out and laced her fingers with hers laying their hands in-between them

"What happened?"

"Nothing Tardis can't fix...just scary that's all" she said gently

"I'm still tiered" her eyes were closing

Doctor moved closer to her "Wanna sleep more?"

"Mmmm"

"You should...Not like we need to be anywhere"

"You stay?" she said with eyes already half closed

"Always...come here" she spreads her arms and Yaz snuggles in, Doctor putting her arms around her "Sleep now"

She fell asleep within minutes Doctor feeling her breathing slowly into her neck. She finally felt at peace knowing she's going to be fine. She felt tiered and exhausted herself being awake for almost four days, her own eyes started to close as soon as her head hit that pillow. She wrapped her fingers around the back of Yaz's head "I love you Yasmin Khan" she whispered very quietly and pressed a small kiss on top of her head

"I love you too" Yaz replied into her neck snuggling herself closer making Doctor smile from the corner of her lips before closing her eyes and falling asleep
